The Remington Club: An Oasis of Senior Living
The Remington Club is a serene oasis of waterfalls, palm trees, rose gardens, and awe-inspiring mountain views where seniors can live life to the fullest. Wherever you look, seniors are having a ball, hanging out by the pool with a drink, starting impromptu billiards tournaments, practicing their shots on the putting green, or enjoying prime rib in the solarium dining room. What’s more, a robust events calendar ensures there’s never a dull moment. Seniors learn from visiting speakers, attend live entertainment, stay fit in exercise classes, get together for cocktail socials, and volunteer in the greater community.
The surrounding area offers plenty of opportunities to learn, grow and relax. The Blue Sky Ecological Reserve boasts spectacular walking trails, Queen Califia’s Magical Circle has enchanting sculptures, and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park features more than 300 species of African animals. The legendary Torrey Pines Golf Course is less than 30 minutes away, as are breathtaking Pacific beaches. The Remington Club’s central location also means it’s close to well-regarded healthcare options like Palomar Medical Center Poway and Jacobs Medical Center at UC San Diego Health.
The Remington Club: Care You Can Depend On
In their independent living program, The Remington Club offers 16 floor plans; everything from The Avalon, a 609-square-foot one-bedroom, to The Cardiff, a 1,324-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bath residence. These apartment homes feature walk-in closets, full kitchens, in-unit washer/dryers, resident call systems, and spacious decks with gorgeous views.
In assisted living, seniors can choose from several apartment options, including studios and one-bedrooms with kitchenettes, step-in showers, and optional private patios. Apartment rates are all-inclusive, meaning one flat price takes care of rent, utilities, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, and three freshly prepared restaurant-style meals in the dining room. Assisted living rates also include medication management and discreet, customizable assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility.

Thanks Executive Director!!! but no thanks on Your "lunch" invite . I''ve been bullied enough by your Sales Director and the assistant I will not be changing my view to align with yours on the Sales /Tour staff - lunch dinner or beyond Why? because I witnessed it first hand! I stated facts that unfortunately for you, are apparent in a short amount of time to someone who has tons of experience and knowledge in Sales, especially with Senior clientele, I was Bullied by your staff, and then there is the Food quality!! You only became the Director on premise 4 days and met me once for a 30 second hello. You do not know, you were not present, you did not want to know your staff you threw a party. So stop trying to defend something you are totally ignorant about!! I will not be bullied or bribed! Now go do Better if you can!

The food is also disgusting 🤮 and inedible. Nothing is fresh or cooked to order it is shipped in and warmed up even the fruit is old and moldy.

March 2024, I am updating my review. The Remington Club has a new Executive Director, Kevin Booth, and he is the best ED this community has had since my mother moved here since 2017. He is getting a LOT accomplished. He has GREAT weekly communication via email with the residents regarding all pertinent matters in the community. It is much easier to accept something "wrong" if you have the context and what actions are being done to remedy it, Kevin is providing this. Kevin seems to be putting together a strong director level team. Marshall who has been here for some time has continued to do a stellar job. David who is heading Maintenance is a great addition and he as well is getting things done. Unfortunately, there is still much to be done as Ownership/past ED''s have left so much undone for so long. That is no fault of the current ED/team. Food is getting better, but still has a way to go. This is one of the hardest issues to get right as it is so subjective. Quality of meat still needs to improve, menu choices need more diversity. I am hopeful that this team will stick and continue to make the needed improvements. This community has great "bones" and my hope is that it will soon live up to 5 stars. I give the team 5 stars, but the community still has a way to go. Is there a way to give a half star? Certainly not 5 start living. We are extremely disappointed in The Remington Club. My mom has lived here for quite a few years. This used to be THE PLACE but sadly it has not been kept up and the apartments are in dire need of an up grade as is the entire community. They spray paint over kitchen and bathroom counters instead of replacing them when they are worn. They are in the process of redoing the dining room (its about time since there was duck tape over tears in the carpet). The last straw is that after redoing the dining room they will only serve dinner 3 nights a week. "If" a resident wants dinner the other 3 nights they have to go over to the other building- not a walkable distance for most seniors especially at night. On Sunday nights there will be NO dinner service, the brunch is supposed to sustain them the rest of the day. It''s obviously a tatic to cut back on labor. Maybe they should cut investor profits of their REIT. Everyone moved in with the promise of three meals a day and at the VERY LEAST one would want dinner every night. One of the main purposes of these communities is the social aspect. The apartments are big that is about the only positive thing I can say. The kitchen and bathroom counters and sinks have been SPRAY PAINTED in matte paint instead of replacing them when they have worn out. At these prices it should have been renovated years ago. UPDATE: Things are going from bad to worse. Laundry doesn''t get done house cleaning doesn''t get done, repairs aren''t done. When the ED says that he will talk to the residents he doesn''t. This community is on its 3rd ED in a very short amount of time. I don''t know how many chefs have come and gone. The dining experience is getting worse. In the bistro they don''t have room for walkers and wisk them away but won''t help get your food and drink to your table. If my mom falls and break her hip because they took her walker away then they should expect a law suit. They charge $18 for beef stroganoff (no sides included and the sides they did offer were all starches, no vegetables, really great for diabetics). I think this place is about ready to go bankrupt and they are trying to pinch every penny they can. It''s so sad.
