I was a caregiver there. Seemed to me that they were understaffed. I am private homecare assistance however they had no one to do scheduled cleanings and laundry. I took it upon myself to do whatever needed to be done for my client. The so called “coordinator called my client and falsified a statement to my clients daughter that was totally bogus. They brought my clients breakfast at 10am and then brought the morning meds later than that. By the time it was lunchtime it was almost 12:30 1 o’clock pm. They have no scheduled activities. If you come to the main door @ 8am you’ll be waiting for someone to acknowledge you and let you in. I have never worked at ANY facility that was so unprofessional and unorganized like this one! EVER!

I definitely didn’t want to leave one star. I worked there for three weeks. It was simply the worst experience I’ve ever had in life! It’s very dirty and full of roaches. There is no structure at this facility at all. I really wanted to bring my integrity and work ethic to try and give the residents some reassurance that I was there for them. The care givers are lazy and don’t bring the residents in time for their meals. No one wears gloves. The management aren’t professional at all. I was really surprised at what I gathered in just two weeks. The residents were very enjoyable and I personally am really going to miss them. Especially Delores, Virginia, and Georgia. I didn’t want to disappoint them by leaving but bad definitely out weighed the good. Kirk, jasmine, kee, the cooks and mahogany were great to work with. Be very careful putting your most loved ones in this facility. God bless you all on your journey to finding someone to care for your elderly family members and friends.

I toured Sunrise of Decatur. It's very beautiful. I'm impressed with the way it looked. It was probably the most expensive one. It was a good facility. They had multiple ways of getting food. There was an all-day menu that you could order from as well as whatever the menu for the day was. The menu for the day was more like an ala carte thing where there were three different entrees you could choose from like there were three different salads and soups and things. To me that was like you get all these different opportunities to choose what you want. The room size was definitely bigger than the other place. They had decent-sized rooms. The facility was super clean and super nice. They're kind of like top-of-the- line. I didn't talk to any of the staff, but the saleswoman. She was nice, and she was on top of her game. It was a very active feeling like you walk in and you would hear people's voices chit-chatting and stuff. It was more like a boutique hotel or something. They had the same kind of activities and the ability to take them around, so that was good. It's not quite as luxurious as the other place but the rooms are bigger.

The tour experience was great. If you can make my father excited, then you''re good at what you do. Sunrise seems like a very nice place to live. The facility was clean and bright. The staff was warm and friendly. From the dinner that we enjoyed, to the resident pooch, the experience was a very good one. My normally resistant father left the tour in a great mood. Now, that''s something to talk about.
