I took a tour of Holiday Regency House during my search for an Independent Living facility. I really liked this facility! The cleanliness and friendliness were great. However, this facility was a bit out of my price range.

Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend Holiday the Regency House community to other families. When we toured Regency House - the experience was great. They asked if we were hungry when we got there and served us lunch. We were famished! Then we toured with [name removed]. Left the facility fed and feeling very welcomed. It was obvious this wasn't as posh as the other facility, but there was more warmth and welcoming vibes. We left and knew it was the place for mom, even though it was only the second place we went to.

They were transparent in what they shared with us. The facility was clean, well-kept, and lively. The grounds were lovely. It was a nice place. All things considered, it would have been a good choice for us. They're about to go through a major renovation that's going to start in a few weeks and I think that renovation will address all the open areas.

Holiday the Regency House is not as nice as the other one. But it's well kept, and they're doing some updating. I had lunch there. The thing that they have there is that you have to have breakfast at a certain time, lunch at a certain time, and dinner at a certain time. I'm not really fond of that, but if you want to eat, I guess you're going to get there. They do assisted living, but they have an agency that comes in to do the skills that you need. It's independent living only, and they do not have assisted living. I'm not sure if the VA would do aid and attendance for that or not, so that's another question. The people that I met were very nice and friendly. The residents I had lunch with were super. The staff was very accommodating and very nice. The food for the day is set, and you can pick this one or that one, and then you have a few choices of what you have for dessert or if you want this kind of salad or that kind of salad. It's just not a wide variety. The food was good though. They didn't have as much going on, but they're willing to expand. I asked them about card games and so forth and they said, "Nobody is doing that, but you could start it up if you wanted to." They only had a couple of machines for exercising on, so that was kind of limited. Most of their apartments had either a balcony or a patio, so that was nice. The apartments themselves were pretty nice. The place was clean but it was not as up-to-date as some other places.
