Our brother [name removed] spent the last few weeks of his life at St Padre Pio. Everyone there is very special!!!!! [name removed] got wonderful hands-on care. We have decided that when it’s our time, we want to be there. [name removed] bought pants for [name removed] because she hoped he would be ambulatory. They cooked his favorite foods and experimented with shakes to come up with the most special one. He was bathed daily and always neat and clean. They went way above and beyond in making his death a good one. We will always be grateful.

This is more of a family environment, so I think it's more relaxing for the residents. They don't feel like they're in an institution. There was more one-on-one care here as well. The direct care staff nurse was good, and she's the one I dealt with on an on-going basis . She was really laid back and easy going. In the end when our loved one was having trouble eating, they were very accommodating in pureeing food for her. And they took care of everything - they helped with setting up hospice. I didn't have to worry about anything. They even let her puppy come and visit, which helped her out a lot.

The owner was waiting to greet us when we arrived. I met two people on staff and they were both very friendly. Upon entering, we went downstairs to the facility where the residents live. The house was very plain looking, although I'm not sure what I expected. Very simple home, friendly staff, but they don't accept medicaid so it would never have worked for my situation.

Way better then a basic care-home. Feels like home to me :)
