My aunt moved into Winslow Court. Everything so far about the experience has been phenomenal. My aunt definitely likes the area and the environment there. Everyone is super friendly. The staff is very helpful in terms of getting her situated. The only downside that I could ever imagine is that it's been costlier. The meals are included. They offer shuttle service if they have any appointments or if they just want to go out to the community. They have bingo nights, game nights, and a book club. There are definitely a lot of things to do there. They are pet-friendly. They have designated areas for smokers. They offer quite a variety of foods. The facility is very well kept. You do get a lot for what you pay for in terms of services, shuttles, and events.
Read moreWe toured with Winslow Court and it was very nice as well. The location was not as close as I would've liked and it was a bit more expensive. So it all came down to expenses for me. Assisted Living takes quite a toll on your finances.

Winslow Court was the first community we visited. Tim and Nicki were wonderful during the tour. It's a nice, updated facility. I like that the dining service is kind of all day. The rooms are rather standard from what we saw at several places. They've updated everything, and it's nice. It almost looks like a newer facility, even though it's older. The only negative about the place is that the cost is a little higher than some. Also, there are not many views, and it's in a neighborhood where you don't get much views. It's not a neighborhood where you could go out and walk trails, there's not anything nearby. There's a sidewalk and a nice outdoor area, but it's not as much for an independent living person. They have a variety of rooms from studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom, and the medical is nice because they have a lot of staff. If you need more medical assistance, that's a good place. The tour was excellent. However, they have some long hallways, and they need to add some chairs.

We had a rocky start when my Dad first moved in due to a misunderstanding on their part regarding cost of move and date. The Executive Director did straighten this out for us and eventually everything leveled off. My Dad has since come to really enjoy his apartment and the staff at Winslow Court. The activities are good, although since COVID there are not any field trips out of the facility. They recently got a hairdresser on site which is a huge plus, and they do have a meal planning committee to help change up the food choices. There has been a couple of rent increases over the past year due to inflation we have to pay. Also staffing shortages can be an issue, but I noticed they do try very hard to fill the positions quickly.
