After 2 surgeries near my Spinal Cord, and an initial rehab elsewhere, I was transferred to ProMedica for Skilled Nursing before I transitioned home. I want to commend the Occupational and Physical Therapists for their expert and top notch care! I couldn''t ask for a better therapy team! When I arrived, I was unable to stand or walk on my own. By the time I left to go home, I was on my feet, toileting myself, and able to move around well on my walker. I''d also like to take the time to commend the wonderful Activities staff. They are caring, personable, and fun to be around and made my stay go by much faster. The Social Worker was wonderful as well. I was blessed to have a mostly solid nursing and nursing aid care team. But it seemed they were understaffed and overworked and as a result the patients had to wait sometime for call lights to be answered and for things like pain relief and toileting. My only major complaints were the food and the drab and dreary rooms (rooms just need a deep clean and upgrades. Also the semi private rooms are quite small) . The food is a constant and major complaint among the residents and most staff members refuse to eat there. I didn''t expect anything gourmet, but if you are unable to get a decent meal taking multiple medications and with the rigors of therapy, it can certainly affect your recovery. I often had to order food outside of the facility because the food was so bad. I shared my concerns with staff. I am not sure if anything can or will be done regarding my concerns, but I think it''s important that people know both the positive and not so positive about facilities like this so that you are able to make an informed decision about you or your loved ones who might receive care here.

My therapy experience with ProMedica has been very good, they pushed me to keep going and I have made great progress. I would suggest anyone needing therapy go to ProMedica.
