My mother has been a resident of Fellowship in both Independent and Assisted Living for over a decade. She loves her life there. The facility is beautiful and well cared for; the dining options are varied - with the “bar” being her favorite ; the activities and opportunity to be involved with are plentiful; the residents are friendly ; but the staff sets Fellowship apart! They are caring, trustworthy and have always had her best interest at heart. I know that I can reach out to them with any questions / concerns and will have the addressed in a timely fashion. I would never hesitate to recommend Fellowship.

At Fellowship Village I received excellent service and superb care. Everyone deserves a raise! Vera RN, Hattie RN, the 2 nurses names Daniella. Doctor Faheem was amazing. Ester household coordinator took care of my every need. All of rehab especially Cory and Rachael. The Social workers Yolanda and Lorna made sure I had a safe discharge. The care partners Sheba, Paul and Prince were very attentive, kind, I wanted for nothing. I would definitely and absolutely recommend Fellowship Village.

I’m grateful to recently have spent 20 days, the toughest physical chapter of my life, at Fellowship Village sub-acute rehab in Basking Ridge and could not recommend it more. I was brought in on a stretcher following a nasty fall, walked out 20 days later (with the aid of a walker, ordered by Fellowship Village staff) due to the consistent encouragement, patience, expertise and healthy food so generously provided at Fellowship. Admission process was fluid and easy to understand/navigate, Fellowship Village worked seamlessly with the hospital to make transfer arrangements. I was quickly settled into a lovely, spacious private room with a large, spotless bathroom and a big window with a pretty view of the grounds. When they visited, my family was very comfortable in the room as well as the lounge area. A mini fridge/freezer was helpful when I didn’t finish a meal as I could store it for later. The kitchen staff was fantastic and accommodating so I often had extra dessert in the fridge. The facility itself is immaculate – cleanliness is the priority without a doubt. Once I was able to sit in a wheelchair and go outside, I greatly enjoyed the lovely grounds, which had a healing effect. Additionally, I felt safe at all times. Transitioning from bedridden to walking could not have happened without the dedicated, expert PT/OT team: they were consistently encouraging, patient, understanding and yet firm in their assurance that with my effort and cooperation, I would get back on my feet. I was never rushed, but I was strongly urged to push myself forward. The Nursing and Care staff is professional, cheerful, attentive - very good at their jobs; also, highly respectful of my personal dignity while attending to my needs. The on-staff doctor was proactive and caring. She worked with my existing medications and provided helpful suggesting that will provide life-long benefits. She also took time to listen and respond to my questions about my care and medical conditions. The staff Social Workers managed so many things for me efficiently and effectively while I was at Fellowship. Anything I asked of them was handled quickly and carefully including both transitions in and out of the facility. Fellowship Village rehab’s manager’s office was right outside my room and any time I needed help with something, she provided excellent advice and assistance. Weekly meetings with my family and the heads of Nursing, Nutrition and Social Work allowed me to understand a clear path forward. Communication among staff, me and my caretaker daughters flowed easily; questions were answered, and concerns were responded to resulting in not one surprise throughout my time at Fellowship. Food – an all-important aspect in emotional and physical healing – was terrific: personalized, delicious, and nutritious. Staff who prepared my food seemed to take great pride in their work, and it showed. The PT facility is remarkably well-equipped and appointed as well as clean. It was an easy place to be. Also, the time allotted for PT/OT was consistently generous - I never felt rushed. PT/OT staff – the heart of Fellowship Village rehab – were uniformly experienced, enthusiastic, kind-hearted, encouraging, professionals. They were proactive, empathetic, and sympathetic yet persistent with showing me how to improve. They were also so encouraging and appreciative of my effort. Their recognition of how hard I was working made it easier to strive forward. I will be forever grateful for their help. Submitted on behalf of my sister, Kathleen Law

My dad was admitted to Fellowship Rehab after a lengthy hospital stay. We were pleased, as we had heard wonderful things and it was close to home. Unfortunately we had an awful experience. Basic care needs were not met, including assistance with bathroom needs, bathing and dressing. Several times we found staff did not reattach his oxygen to the wall, or reconnect his wound vac. He often had to call us for help because staff did not respond to call bell. We were told this was due to short staffing. Some staff were kind, others were not. We addressed these concerns with the Director of Nursing and there was some minimal improvement. My dad was made aware that we “complained”. Two days ago we found him incoherent, convulsing from an extremely high fever and dangerously low oxygen saturation. They would not call an ambulance until their doctor evaluated him - which took over 30 minutes. We had to threaten to call an ambulance ourselves to get him transported (we were told we’re were not allowed because they are contracted with a service). This took another 30 minutes. My dad is now in ICU and intubated with sepsis. While the medics were moving him onto the stretcher I received a phone call from the Fellowship social worker asking if we would like to pay out of pocket to hold the room during his hospital stay. My dad wasn’t even out of the building yet. I am in the industry and fully understand the challenges in healthcare these days, I am appalled at the lack of urgency and care. The DON has not returned our phone calls since this incident. It’s a shame that such a beautiful facility is so poorly run and short staffed to a dangerous level.

Today concluded the 20+ day stay of our mom who needed skilled rehabilitation to recover from several severe injuries. A family member found Fellowship and it was like finding a diamond in the rough. Every detail of Fellowship from the facility to the rooms to the food and most importantly the staff - specifically social worker, Yolanda, Head Nurse Vera and Care Partner, Marie … and many many more. We were so blessed to find Fellowship.
