Walnut Creek Assisted Living and Memory Care Empowers Independence
Walnut Creek Assisted Living and Memory Care, a premier senior care community in Mansfield, TX, helps seniors take charge of their lives, meet new friends and pursue their passions, knowing that the care they need will be there. Housekeeping and maintenance teams knock out cleaning, repairs and other tedious chores, while caretakers offer 24/7 discreet support to provide seniors with everything they need to feel independent. That may be different for each older adult, but care plans can include things like transportation, medication management and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) like continence, bathing, dressing and mobility.

This Montessori-inspired approach to memory care uses proven rehabilitative strategies designed to optimize cognition, enhance interactions and foster a sense of purpose and accomplishment, regardless of the loved one’s skill level. SPARK is led by dementia-care-trained caregivers who focus on helping each person reach their full potential.

My tour of Walnut Creek Assisted Living & Memory Care was very good. I think the young lady who took me through did a good job of showing me the property and what their different floor plans were. I was able to get into numerous options and see their facility. Everything was clean and orderly and nice accommodations. Like the dining area and the different recreation areas, everything was very well kept. The rooms that we saw had all the features that we'd be looking for. I didn't walk away with any real negatives. It's a smaller facility than the other place. They have a very nicely kept facility. It seemed like it had a lot of positive attributes. The individuals that I communicated with were very friendly, communicated well, and were very pleasing to talk to.
Read moreThe Administrator [name removed] was amazing and very helpful. The staff is what sticks out most about this facility. The friendliness and the respect that they have for my family and our needs. I would recommend Walnut Creek to others looking.

We've visited Walnut Creek Assisted Living & Memory Care, it was really nice, and we loved that one the most. It was a facility that holds about 56 residents, so it was larger than the other place we toured. They had some really nice-size apartments, and also some little studio rooms available for the residents. They also had a memory care section which was very encouraging, because that way, if Mom needed to go into a memory care facility, she wouldn't have to change facilities. So she could just stay there and just move into a different section. It appeared to be very clean and they had live music going on at the time we came in, so that's really cool. They also have gardening, arts and crafts, and all kinds of things for the residents to get involved with. The rooms had a living area, kitchenette, a bedroom, and a bathroom. One of the rooms we've visited was larger than the other one, but they also have studio rooms. The staff was very kind. The lady who was taking us through the tour introduced us to a number of staff; it was kinda fun meeting them as well. In the memory care they have a private room, and then they also have what they call a Jack and Jill room, which is where the residents can still have fairly good privacy. So you go in and then there's the bathroom door with doors on each side, so one bedroom was on the left and another bedroom was on the right as you walk in. It seemed to be pretty nice. They're a little bit more affordable than some of the other places that we've visited, so that's also encouraging. We didn't try any food, but the people at the restaurant seemed to be fairly happy with the food they were having. They were eating when we were there. Everything in the facility was so clean, it was sparkling, they had flowers, and everything was decorated very nicely. They had nice courtyards, even for the memory care, where the residents could go out.

Read moreThe family is happy with our experience with Walnut Creek. Our loved one seems very happy to be here. The staff communication with the family is good. There is an activities calendar available to let the residents know what is going on.
We absolutely loved Walnut Creek, all of the staff members were so friendly and extremely attentive. However when they had that flash flood the entire community flooded and our loved one had to move.
