My father is there just sitting in his room and told he has Covid and can’t go outside. He can’t even get fresh air outdoors even though he feels fine. It seems like this place is nice- until you get there, and then it’s more like a prison. My worry is that they want everyone to just “be easy” and stay in their rooms. But that is terrible for one’s physical and mental well-being.

Since working here since March of 2021, I have thoroughly enjoyed by employment here. I love interacting with the residents on a daily basis. I started at the concierge desk and have had the opportunity to move up to a manager position. The staff and management here have been the greatest people to work with. They give you incentives to work hard and do your best. I couldn''t think of a better place to work. They really are like an extension of my family.

I have now worked at The Woodlands at Furman for 2 years. I started working here as a Companion while I was finishing up my degree at Furman University. Since graduating I have had the honor of being promoted to the Connections Scheduler and Development Coordinator. I loving having a job that I look forward to coming to every day! Not only have I formed strong relationships with residents and other staff, but The Woodlands has also become a home for me. I highly recommend The Woodlands as an outstanding place to live and work!

While very impressed with Independent Living at Woodlands upon my first visit, I immediately put my name on the waiting list. Before I was able to move in I had another positive impression by going to the skilled nursing to recover from a hospital stay. The quality of staff, personnel and medical care was excellent. The lead team knows how to bring on new staff that cares for people and shows the quality of excellence that Woodlands at FU desires. So grateful and looking forward to moving into AL or IL soon. A great caring family environment designed to make transitioning a transformational experience!!
