The Landing at Augusta Woods Senior Living is brand new. We were there as visitors and looked like it was well-managed. They have other places nationwide and I liked that everything was clean and nice. The rooms were quite good, especially the deluxe one-bedroom. It had a good amount of space, considering it's a one-bedroom. It had a smaller refrigerator and smaller counter space than the regular kitchen in a regular house, but that's not that bad. The dining room was very nice and the food was good. The service was a little slow as they were short on the waitstaff, but they're working on that. They have quite a few activities listed. Once a month, somebody comes in and gives lectures to them. The staff was very nice and very friendly, too. They have this little program called ambassadors. So, whenever somebody is new or visiting, they picked a person that was very akin to what you are going through or the kind of lifestyle you have. That's your person who kind of stays and hangs around you. Since we're both in the military, our ambassador was a man that was also in the Air Force. When everybody was coming into the dining room, you could see the tables with all the names. They wanted everybody to grab their own name and set it with them. So, when a new person was walking around, she could start seeing everybody's name and whoever she sat down with, the names of the people she was sitting with were right there. I thought that was nice.
Read moreI really liked The Landing at Augusta Woods, I actually put money down for a deposit on the place while it was being built. Once it was done, I went to look at the rooms and the closet space was so small that it was almost non existent and I knew that was not going to work for me.

The Landing is a brand new facility and it is beautiful. The staff were extremely nice and were really interested in getting to know my mother and her interests. They really had a lot to offer, we liked that they served 3 meals a day in the dining room. Since it was newer there were not as many residents here to interact with. That made her a little nervous not being able to talk to more people to see if she would fit in well there.

She is a friendly, knowledgeable spitfire. Manager Holly and Porter Lane are the BEST!.Two years ago:I just LOVE this place!!! My apartment is exactly perfect for me and the extra wide doorways are a blessing for my 16-year-old granddaughter's wheelchair. My balcony view is a breath of fresh air morning and evening. The amenities are wonderful and the staff is amazingly cordial. Jennifer, Holly and Summer are helpful and timely in their attention to any issues. Maintenance's Joe and Ray are on top of things. Location? Couldn't be better!!! No gas money spent getting to Wal-Mart, just take my little cart (which I bought there) and walk.My only peeve is people monopolizing the handicapped parking outside of the gates as if it's their own reserved space.Overall I am a happy, happy tenant. 😊👍

I’ll admit, the apartment hunting process is terrifying for me. Locking myself in a lease is always scary, the idea that you see a place, like it, move in and very suddenly everything goes downhill. My first impressions were great. Perfect location, beautiful photos, and a great price (not *too* good to be true) for the area. I was running out of time to decide on a place, so I went with Haven at Augusta Woods. Martina helped me so much through the application process, always kept me up-to-date. I was ecstatic when I was approved.Upon my arrival on move-in day, I walked in on an unpleasant situation unfolding between two residents in the office. A normal occurrence for an apartment complex, tame in comparison to what I’ve witnessed before. I didn’t even think to let it bother me, but watching how professionally and competently the staff deescalated and handled the situation and how profusely they apologized to me, I knew I was in the right place. My apartment is beautiful. I’ve never been in an apartment so soundproof before?? I have sensory issues, and yet I sleep like a baby and can work from home with little-to-no distractions. I have no issues with bugs, which is incredibly rare for the Woodlands. Usually fat, massive roaches are a given, no matter where you live or how much you spray. Not a single one I’ve found, dead or alive.I had a few maintenance issues within the first few days of moving in, again, normal for an apartment and easy to understand why they were overlooked (fridge seal not quite right, some issues with the kitchen sink) Within a day of moving in, they’d fixed my biggest issue and begun working on the more complex one. For such a large complex, I’m shocked at how orderly things are resolved.I do wish there were two elevators- one on each side of the complex, but nothing to take a star away for. I believe this could be for security reasons, and I can respect that. The other residents are respectful and courteous, I’m not sure understand some of the reviews. Packages are delivered to my door, and I don’t worry about someone taking it! The entry gates operate smoothly, which was one of my big concerns. I’d begun to think that finding a complex where my car was safe was going to be impossible anywhere within 50 miles of Houston. Most importantly, I feel safe as a woman. I usually get “vibes”, and there are none here. I feel safe walking to my car in the dark. I love it here, and am already planning on renewing when my lease is up.
