I am really happy with our Sunrise experience. I have found the staff to be engaged and considerate. My mom is on the memory floor. There are many daily activities to keep her engaged. The food is good. I particularly enjoy working with Nurse Marissa and Floor coordinator Christine.
My sister-n-law is in there after a major surgery for her fractured arm. She has only been fed scrambled eggs for two days. Her doctor was shocked to learn they hadn''t been icing her arm. No one there seems to care.

My brother would have been there if the timing had worked out. The staff who gave us the tour was very nice and very competent. Probably the best presenter I've seen in a long time for that type of facility. The rooms were very bright, they were good-sized, and updated. It was lovely, and a very nice place. I would assume that people that go there would like it. Their staff seemed good. They do have medical staff on board, and I just dealt with the tour person, his name's Brendan. The facility is wonderful.

Dad is happy here, but we're still not sure about it. He loves the place and the residents. One of my biggest concerns is the response time. It's often unacceptable. I've asked if they are understaffed and they say they are not, but dad is still having to wait 30 minutes to an hour for a response a lot of times when pushing his call button for assistance. They have a bus for outings and we were told that they do them weekly, but they don't. Outings are very rare. I asked a few other residents and they said it's normal that they don't have outings very often at all. Every day seems exactly the same for them. Activities aren't organized. Dad has tried to participate, but some of the residents there to play can't mentally engage and he would get frustrated. So he stopped going to them. They did just get a new manager, so I'm hoping things improve. The staff is hit and miss, some are compassionate and to some it's just a job. Meals are ok, no complaints from dad. The facility is clean, it never smells. When I expressed my concerns/complaints, I was asked to give them 30 days to correct things and make it right, so we're still waiting. At this point, I'm not sure if I would recommend them.

I toured the Sunrise of Chesterfield. They said they were going to help my sister shower and all that. They interviewed her. They came and visited to see if she would be a fit for their community. They did accept her, if we wanted her to go there. It's just that she started walking again, and she did not want to leave the place she was in because she had friends there. The staff was very nice. They seemed very friendly, and I was very impressed with that. I liked the place a lot. If I were picking a place for me, that's where I'd want to go. My sister just doesn't do well with change. The place was very clean, very nice, and very organized. It seemed like it was a good place. The person who gave me the tour said that they had a lot of activities too, so that was good.
