Do not let your loved one live here. It is woefully understaffed. There are some very nice people there trying very hard to do a good job, but they are overwhelmed. The place is not clean and once care gets near to end of life, they are at a complete loss on how to care for your loved one. Incorrectly medicating, not turning patients to prevent bed sores, poor communication, lack of training and bedside manner. I don't have nearly the space in this review to go over everything wrong with Serenades, but rest assured, you do not want anyone you love here. They will put your loved one onto Hospice almost immediately. Not to give better care, but to make more money for the facility. It is a for profit system and it shows. I wish the best for the staff who were caring and trying hard. I wish nothing but the worst for the Serenades management and the parent company of Serenades. There are plenty of other choices for care. Do not go here.

Overall it was great experience, my mom made friends and the staff made her feel at home. She went to the daycare a few days a week then stayed for a respite stay of 10 days. I think they could have more activities but it is more like a boutique size which is nice as I feel they get more specialized care. It was at the top of my budget and I had to leave her in respite two days longer than planned as there was a virus going around. I didn't want to pull her out till I knew she wasn't contagious and I thought hat is why at the end of her stay the place didn't seem as clean as they were sequestered so I am sure the cleaners were kept at bay

They only do memory care at Serenades at The Villages, which set them apart from the other facilities. They do so much with their residents, and it's all geared towards memory care. It's great because it will be more focused on what my father needs. If anything was to happen to my stepmother and I had to put her into some type of assisted living or independent living, she wouldn't be able to be anywhere near him. I can't come down to take her to visit him or vice versa, so that was a red flag for me. They don't take Medicaid either. Other than that, the facility was beautiful. The rooms were very nice. Everything was great there. We got there a little later in the day, so we didn't get to see as much interaction. When we got there, there was a couple who were sitting together watching television. There was a staff member who was sitting with them, and there was another resident there as well. The sales director took us on the tour, and he was fabulous. He made us feel very welcome. He understood what we are going through, what we have to do, and how hard it is. He was really good. He had a lot of stories. He was a problem solver. There was a woman who was freaking out about not having cash on her, but you can order fake money. They have things like that to make the residents feel comfortable. They have ways to interact with them, so you get the response that you're looking for. All the menus and activities looked good. Everything was great. Their facility was fabulous. They even have something to help with sundowning. They have some light things put into the ceiling. That was the only facility that we saw that. Their outdoor courtyard was really, really nice. It's in the middle of the buildings. The buildings are making a square around the courtyard. They could go outside, and you don't have to worry about them running off or escaping. For every door, they need a key. Nobody could walk in and out. You have to have either a key fob or a code or something, so that was really nice, just to have that sense of security that he would not be able to get up and just walk out.

They provide me with alerts on the times when someone is coming to visit my person. They ask if I have any concerns. Meals are very good. I can't be there every moment, and I appreciate the care they provide to her and that they do what they say they're going to do. It’s definitely worth the cost.
