Family member has been in community, for a year now. I have no real complaints, when it comes to staff, administration on the other hand never seen. Staff changes frequently, and they have had some awesome staff members, which to me means, administration inattentive to their needs, AND THE NEEDS OF RESIDENTS! residents confused by new staff changes all the time. Scary. Only two staff members on weekend to care for all residents, what happens in an emergency, how do they handle. resident hygiene not consistent, I have to ask that my mom be bathed, sheets on bed not changed unless I do it, months without changing. I have on several occasions made administration aware with no resolve. Need better ADMINISTRATION!

Savannah Cottage of Lakeland was a place where people were passionate about taking care of people with memory care problems. It's a small place and has kind of a cottage effect. The rooms are small, but the people that were in memory care were more on the severe side, but still, they were doing activities. The person that led us through and also the director, felt like that was family. The reason why we didn't choose that place is that the rooms were too small for us. It was very nice in appearance, older but still homey.

Tell other families what you would want the to know: My experience with my grandparents at Savannah Cottage Lakeland Memory Care was amazing . We were pleased. We did everything online it was super easy and less stress than the other 4 communities toured. The community is smaller which we liked for them we didn’t want them to feel lost in transition of the day in a big place. The care staff is very compassionate and took time out to learn our grandparents and family to make sure they had the best experience Prices where the best for a memory care. I know people wander about this . She gave us a rate that included all of there care food and cleaning. We also accepted the furniture package from them which was a nice. Grammy and Granddad just took clothing and pictures and everything else was there and beautifully set up awaiting for us to arrive. The food is amazing I kid you not Thomas the chef is like Chef Gordon. Homemade for scratch. The peanut butter and jelly cookies are to die for . Activity person was lively and so sweet. The memory care patients there did Painting, dancing , baking, book club; exercise, technology innovative fun snap chatting, outdoor adventure, game night, picnics. What you link memory care is and what it really is there is amazing and refreshing. Everyday is something new going and fun to do. Thanks for sending us pictures to make us feel close. The new places offered us a pool and other amazing amenities but our grandparents never did those things as hobbies. So Instead we went with the place that was best fitted for our need and want list. Secure space, smaller community but not to small, great care, a good administrator with expert communication skills was a must for us and we got all of this more. The new looks nice but this older gem was the move us and we were happy with no regrets. Thanks and seriously go try those cookies :)

My aunt has moved into Savannah Cottage of Lakeland. It's been very good. She needed to have a room within two days and they were one of the few memory care facilities that had spots available. It was great. They showed us the room that she would be given. They showed us the whole layout of the facilities and the security measures that are in place for the residents. They also went over their diet. I thought it was a pretty comprehensive review of their services. They had a salon and a physical therapy area. They have an interesting sensory spot with tables and chairs where they do sensory stuff with the residents. They have different fabrics and different shapes so that they could maintain some intellectual properties. They have several aides and a nurse that's on duty. The nurse is affiliated with the doctor that they can call if there is a problem with a resident so they can get that medical knowledge. There was a receptionist every time I visited who unlocked the door and did the COVID screening. The director of sales was very good about ensuring she had transport from the hospital. He also gave us the tour. He also gave me all of the financial information that I would need. I thought that was good. Their staff seemed well-trained and well-educated. The dining area was like a kitchen in a home, that's what they were striving for with the entire setup. The kitchen area had kitchen tables and chairs for the residents and then an open kitchen where the staff would serve them. They also had snacks on demand and drinks on demand like water so that the residents could just go to the kitchen and the staff would monitor their food and stuff. It was pretty homey and it was nice. There was also a maintenance person there. He helped put together my aunt's bed and he did that other maintenance stuff like hooking up the cable to the TV and things like that. I thought that it was a nice feature to have a maintenance person on staff. She has only been there a week now but she has done bingo and some type of card matching games. I think the price was within the budget and it was within as far as what we expected to pay in Florida, it was within reason.

My cousin is at Savannah Cottage of Lakeland. It seems to be fine but it's a little lacking in communication. Like when I call, sometimes, nobody answers the phone, and whenever I do get someone that's not really anybody that knows what is going on. I haven't been allowed inside the facility. All the staff that I met, I don't have any issues with. Everything has been fine. I'm limited with my opinions because I haven't been able to be in the facility. They communicate activities with me through email.
