Holiday Rock Creek is my second favorite. Really great staff, and a really nice place. Really great staff and a really nice, nice place. The reason they're my second was they're one of the places that has a general use washing and dryer, and there's no kitchen, but their rooms are really nice and the facilities were really nice. It's open; I think they just went through a remodel. And so the kitchen area, it looked like a nice restaurant. All the facilities, the arts area, the exercise rooms, the pool tables, and the general meeting area all really clean and it looks like they really cared. I worked with Megan, and she was super cute. When I walked in she already had a little sign on the little kiosk that said, "Welcome, Brian, to your tour." Just those little extra touches, I thought were fun, right? She personalized my appointment meeting, so an appointment with her was super easy, very communicative. She was great.

I toured Holiday Rock Creek. The community is nice. It's a little on the city side, but other than that, I like it a lot. I like the space. They had a lot of upgrades, so it was nice. The location is good. The apartments are good sizes and layouts. They have a lot of good windows. What I liked best about them was that almost all of the rooms had either a balcony or a little patio space. Also, most of the people were doing activities when we visited. The staff were very friendly. The facility was very nice. We couldn't see some of the common areas because they were dealing with some water damage due to the construction. The gym could use a little bit more stuff in my opinion. It didn't have very much equipment. It just had two little riding bikes and some chairs to do sit-down exercises. I know that's what most people that age do, but it seems like they could have had a little bit more for strength training and stuff.

First, I would say that the agency has a hard time finding employees, so when you're understaffed, you're not up to par. Many people here have walkers, canes or wheelchairs so we need a driver for the bus but haven had on here for the last month. Our activity director tries to have many activities but not many participants. The food is good and the room is fine. I don't have a car, but I can walk to most places I need to go. There are a lot of medical facilities, grocery stores, etc. in the neighborhood.

There are a ton of different activities at Holiday Rock Creek - at the moment we do not have a bus diver but when we do - on Fridays we go to Freddy's or another place for lunch and we go to different shopping stores. On Tuesday's' and Thursday's they bring us to and from our doctors appointments. There is a group of guys that come to visit us and sing for us. It is expensive but with all the different services they offer it is totally worth it. We have really nice TV's with X-finity that has more channels you could ever want and even plenty of Spanish channels. The activities that are here, are fantastic. It is a very pet friendly community. It really is amazing.

My Mother lived at the Rock Creek Holiday Independent retirement home for aprox 5 years. She loved it there up until Atria took over ownership. Everything changed for the worse. The quality of customer service went down so significantly that she and over 20 other residents moved and went elsewhere. Don't be fooled by the shiny remodel. Yes it looks really nice! We found that there are other places out there that may not be freshly remodeled, but the quality of life is so much better. It was not an easy move at age 89 but my Mother is so much happier leaving Rock Creek. The Atria Senior management was also terrible to work with. Based on our experience we would never use an Atria facility again.
