Terrible nursing services. A PICC was placed in my mom without notification or consent. When asked the reason, the nurse only said abnormal labs, but could not tell me what'' was abnormal. Fluids were only for 2 liters (no PICC was needed for that). PICC still in arm after 7 days, and unable to get the nursing services to remove it. No cooperation with print out of meds. My mom is continent of bowel and bladder. She was placed on a diaper and had to sit in urine for hours cause she couldn''t go to bathroom with fluids attached. No alternate food choices were offered to her or roommate the entire stay. Do not place your love ones there unless you''re able to be there every day.

My mother has been at the Decatur facility for almost a year now. Every two / three months something happens ( fall, hair was cut in spots) which causes me to feel that my mom is being neglected. I feel this way because often times things happen and occurs and the facility is not aware until I inform them. The residents share restrooms and there are no wipes or toilet sheets. Everyone (4) individual sit on the same toilet seat. Often the rest room is not clean. See pics. The call button on the resident bed is often not monitored and no response when the resident calls for help/support. I have been there and tested it myself. Often times when I call the nurses station ( 1st floor) I can’t get through to anyone to talk to. I am often told that they are busy but someone needs to monitor incoming calls - it could be an emergency. The administrator Michael Hanson mentioned - if I wanted to find another facility for my mom he would help me look. My response was no - she is going to stay right here. I will continue to be involved in her care and be an advocate for those residents that don’t have family engaged and concerned for their care. The concerns that I report and get addressed will help others residents in the future. Concerned Daughter.
