We have chosen Pearls of Life at Liberty Ridge for my friend. I thought it was well-apportioned. It was very nice. It looked clean and it smelled clean, so I had no problem with cleanliness. The person who accommodated me was very knowledgeable and very helpful. They had activity centers where they could meditate and play a game. They had a patio area, too. I also appreciated that they had an area where they could go in and play around like women could remodel the kitchen and put things in different places. It was very nice. It's the best one I have seen to date.

They had some stimulating rooms where they had images on the walls that had birds flying, bird behavior, and fish aquarium kind of a thing. It's just something for them to look at. It sounded like they had some very smart concepts there.

My mother is living at Pearls of Life. All of her caregivers have been nice. The director has been very helpful and cares about his seniors. What I really like is: When I call someone will answer the phone. Other places not so true. My mother has been wearing her own clothes. At another nursing home she was wearing clothes that were not her's and when I moved her I had to buy her all new clothes. As far a meals go, I've read that someone said they can't go in when they are eating. I have not found that to be true. I go in when she is eating and have even encouraged her to eat. I have also called and talked to a nurse. There is no perfect place anywhere I don't care how much you pay. This nursing home is pretty good. Another important fact is that they call you if there are any changes with your love on.

My brother is in Pearls of Life at Liberty Ridge. The facility is gorgeous. I've never seen anybody cleaning, and they don't assist that much as far as bedmaking and keeping the room straight. The room is always a mess like there are clothes in baskets. I've only seen him eat maybe once. I didn't like the meal that I saw, but he eats anything. He seems to enjoy his meals. I have not been there when they're doing activities. We're not allowed to go when they're eating or when they're having activities. I did go at one time, and they had someone in there and they were singing, but that's the only activity I've seen. They have a salon, but I've never seen anybody in there. They have what they call like a little store, so it's just a little room that if the residents want to go in and feel like they're shopping and pick up something in there. They have a room which is dark like you're looking up and you're seeing the stars and it has very calming music, so it's really pretty. I'll take my brother in there and just sit and talk because that's a nice place. They also have a little kitchen area like you would have for a little girl and you can pretend that you're eating dinner and stuff like that. They have a room that is set up with doll babies with cribs, and I have seen women walking around holding the doll babies thinking that they're real, which I think that's wonderful and that's what I would want when I go. It's equipped nicely. It's very nice. I just find that they don't keep the rooms looking nice. It's pretty messy. Also, for some reason, a lot of people are walking around without shoes because they lose their shoes. Like I see my brother walking down the hall all the time with just one sock on. I don't see a lot of staff, not like at the other place. The desk people are very nice. The director is very nice, too. I really haven't seen any cleaning people. The staff that I met are very nice. I like the guy that is in charge. I don't have anything to compare it to, I don't see where my brother getting any better care than he got at the other place. They say that their prices are so much higher because the care has to be better, but I don't see any care. He has a shared room and it has a bathroom and a shower.
