Morningstar of JC is a Chaotic mess!!! I''ve been rc for 4 months and I got fired from something on my personal phone. Being a rc I never had training only 2 days from ALC . Then expected to figure everything else out on my own or ask the LEC or WD for help!!. I''ve never seen a staffing turnover so much in my life , before I came the ALC never held anyone accountable for their actions, the ED and ALC knew staff wasn''t doing their job, covering up what they suppose to do and not doing!!!. Chaotic mess is what it was. I was terminated wrongfully, I was trying to pass meds and take care of people and ALC was sitting in her office , I communicated with her how short we were and needed help, and Nothing!!!. This place needs to be looked at thoroughly!!! .there was multiple times I addressed it the ED and she failed to hear my concerns. The ED made a decision of of Her emotions there is a Chaotic mess in this community. For my termination I was never written up or in trouble. Im the 4th rc at this place , don''t you think you should investigate. The Big back ALC sits and eats snacks all-day in her office, Half the people in AL should be in Rc and over half the people in Rc should be were they get more care!!!!! They let anyone in when we don''t have any equipment for these residents!! Al their are rooms over their that smell sooo bad. ALC does nothing!!!!. Again when corporate came the ED and ALC lied to her face about what they was doing and was not!!! This place is a Chaotic mess no order or accountability for anything!! Paula protocol wasn''t followed when u didn''t follow policies and procedures when it was my personal phone!!!. You still have to help someone train into the building regardless of having training. Still don''t leave anyone out to hang!!!. 1 Corinthians 14:40. , Let All Things be done decently and in order!.

I can’t even begin to express how amazing the overall experience at MorningStar has been for both my father and me. We moved him into the Assisted Living side about 6 months ago and it’s been a joy. He enjoyed the meals and loved interacting with team who looked after him. When it came time to move him into a memory care environment we never hesitated, as we seamlessly moved him into the MorningStar Memory Care wing. Words will not begin to convey the love and care my Dad received EVERY day with the staff. The facility is gorgeous, the amenities and activities are superb. And without exception all requests for my Dad were honored. Cindy is a true angel as the nurse/caregiver/medical head.. she was so invested in my Dads care up until the very end. Lindsay was such a great person and a positive light at the facility, always keeping things fun and positive. Lastly, it was the Exec Director Paula who held my Dads hand while I rushed to be with him at the end. That level of care and compassion can never be forgotten, especially at such a time of need. Thank you to everyone at MorningStar!! U were a such a blessing for my Dad and our whole family.

When we went to MorningStar Assisted Living & Memory Care at Jordan Creek and took the tour, they had a big audience. They only handle 55 people, but on the side of the full memory care, there's a big lobby open area, and it was a full audience. They were all listening to the guy playing a guitar and singing, and they all seemed to enjoy it. Then the lady told me that they have entertainment on both wings, or both sides of the building, and whenever they have entertainment, it doesn't matter what side of the building the entertainment is on, you could go to either one. They talked about how the Valley High School jazz band comes in once in a while. I'm familiar with the Des Moines area a little bit and I know a little bit about that school and they've always been topnotch in everything that they do, from sports to music. The first impression you get when you walk in there is that it's like a grand hotel. When you look at it from the outside, you're wondering if you're in the right place until your GPS takes you there. It looks like an apartment building, just like the other apartment buildings are in that area. The facility is only five years old. It's way more modern than any other in the Des Moines metro area probably. They're more expensive over there, but not by a whole lot, and everybody breaks it down by the hour depending on what your needs are. You can order off the menu if you don't like what they're serving. I saw a couple plates and it's kind of a restaurant style deal there. So, if you want to step up to the bar, you can get it from there. I didn't really get a chance to see what the menu was all about, because they were listening to music at the time, but I saw one plate of food and it looked good. It's a two story facility. The walls in level one and level two were color coded. So, I guess that has something to do with the residents if they're on the blue or the green floor or whatever, that helps them. They showed me a couple of model rooms and they were decorated. The first thing I told them was that I could live there. It was a really positive experience. Honestly, I think you're getting what you pay for. They're a little costlier, but once you run out of money at that location, they work to try to find you another community because they don't do Title 19.

We like MorningStar Assisted Living & Memory Care at Jordan Creek. It was well-appointed and bright, and the atmosphere was good. The staff knew everyone that we met. They were getting ready for a bus ride. MorningStar at Jordan Creek is one of our favorites. There were more staff around. They do movie night, they were doing a popcorn thing when we were there, and it was friendly. The rooms were a good size and decent depending on how much money you wanted to spend, but for the smallest one, it was a decent size. The menu looked really good. The heavy menu is at noon and then they do it lighter menu at night for the memory care to try to get them settled down. The level of care seemed good. The nurses seemed to know their patients.

I've toured MorningStar at Jordan Creek. It was really nice, it's just really high-priced. My mom really liked it and she'd love to be there, but it was about $1,000 more than all the rest of them. Their rooms seemed big, they had full-size refrigerators in all of them, and they were really nice. They had rooms where you could video watch church services or sporting events. There was an exercise room, there was a meeting area downstairs that you could rent out for family and stuff if you wanted to have dinner. The staff was really great. They had a library, a big kitchen, and elevators, and the rooms were a good size. The facility itself is in good shape being only five or six years old. Up on the corner is a restaurant, there's a hotel right there, and a strip mall.
