So grateful + thankful to the wonderful staff at Manor Care in Venice. My 98 year old Mom arrived there July 7th in terrible condition. She was in pain from a bent back, had leg wounds + was basically bed ridden. The physical therapy department worked tirelessly to get her up. Special thanks to Leo, Jerry ,Christine + Jerry Lynn. The nurses there were also a big part of Mom''s recovery. They are all friendly +so caring. Special thanks to Rachel + Beverly. My Mom went to memory care today + she is pain free+ able to walk with a walker. All the effort of the staff made this possible for her.Thank you all.

Hours and pay were great. I loved the actual job, but immediate management who you work with or around daily, was cringing. The ADON Michelle is a bully and completely unapproachable. A lot of favoritism. The newly assigned "unit manager" Beverly is a completely unprofessional trouble maker and very inappropriate with past personal and criminal history stories to many of the nursing staff. Most of the CNAs were wonderful, and the very few careless ones, I wouldn''t work with. Janet, Sylvia, Suzelle are angels to that place. Physical therapy was very beneficial for the patients and they were all pleasant and caring people. Dietary gets many complaints and often they get diet orders wrong. You have to be very aware of your patients and MD orders. Unclear communication of policies. Tom the DON is an awesome boss but he doesn''t see how things are on the floor. He is really trying to turn the place around. I can honestly say I was one of the most hard working and caring nurses they had but I didn''t feel valued. Dealing with the drama of management constantly talking about me, and not to me, the lack of respect, and power trips, I decided to quit. It wasn''t worth my happiness. Hostile work environment. Be the good nurse to make a difference in that place!

This nurse went above and beyond ,and did patient care so the patient didn’t have to wait for the cna . Beverly who works on the rehabilitation side was also phenomenal … jumped in and helped when it was needed !! Jen from therapy was another person that STOOD out to me ! She genuinely cares about the pts and helps them with their daily goals ! Marissa in activities is phenomenal as well , very active with the residents and does great activities to keep the patients busy. I would recommend this facility . Great caring staff !

We had to repeatedly ask that our mother be bathed. We were told her bath days were 2 days a week, which she never received unless we asked and followed up. My father was given little to no information about the care she was receiving in the two weeks she was there. Our mother contracted Covid while there and they failed to tell my father there was the beginning of a small outbreak in the facility until 10 people were already marked as sick. She was moved into a covid ward, no updates were given & he was refused entry to see her. meals were atrocious, "mystery meat" every day. You can tell the food they serve meets bare minimum requirements. I would not choose this facility again for family future care.
