I toured this facility. The independent living was much nicer than the assisted living side. However, the memory care unit was very small, only had twin beds, and smelled musty. Overall, I would not recommend.

We toured Aston Gardens at Pelican Pointe and upon arrival we found out that they forgot about us. The lady at the front desk had to tour us, and I felt bad because she had to find someone else to replace her. Because we were unexpected the tour was quick. The community felt very dark, there were only three residents out watching TV and the rest were in their room. They also let us know that while they have med techs there all the time, the nurse isn't. We chose another community because Aston Gardens wouldn't have been a good fit for my mom.

It's an absolutely beautiful place. My parents feel like they are at a resort. They were anxious about the move but they love it. They are very very happy. Housekeeping comes once a week. They have a washer and dryer in the unit. They have dances, parties, arts and crafts, field trips, shopping dates, movie nights to name a few activities my parents enjoy. Transportation is provided to residents for outings. Most outings are scheduled. The residents are friendly and welcoming. The staff are accommodating. My parents can put a ticket in to the front desk for something and those requests are handled pretty quickly. I couldn't be more pleased with where they are at.

They do not have enough help which I know is a problem at a lot of places. But everybody here is so friendly, residents and the staff members. The food is good, the only problem they are having is keeping the food warm. We would recommend them, we think it is a great value for the money. The rooms here are very large and definitely the biggest out of the places we checked out. They also have a ton of storage/closet space.
