So I would just tell others to expect for it to take some time for your loved one to get acclimated with the schedule, dining, rooms, staff etc. Overall I would recommend Laurel Glen to others

Laurel Glen at Memphis Assisted Living & Memory Care was nice and very clean. Our tour went great. We visited both assisted living and memory care just to see what our options were. The staff was also very nice and it seemed like they listened to what each resident needed. It had a very calm and very peaceful atmosphere. They had a garden in the courtyard area. Whichever window you looked out, you saw some sort of greenery. So, it was just nice that you wouldn't see a street or a building, but nature. It was very pretty. Their memory care had nurses on staff that watched the hallways for security. So, there was an extra level of care, and that they really wanted to make sure that their residents were comfortable and safe. If the resident wanted to be active and involved, they had plenty of amenities, such as a spa, a hairdresser/a barber that would come in and do their hair, and an event room for families who wanted to celebrate the resident's birthday or have a family event. Then, if you didn't want to get too involved and you want to just kind of stay in your room and relax, you could do that, too.
Read moreI toured this facility and it was nice. We were impressed with all of the staff and the appearance of the facility. Ultimately, we chose another place closer to home. Distance was a big factor in our decision and this facility was a little bit further from home than we were looking for.
This community needed to be updated and not the right type of place that we were looking for for my loved one. The tour guide was nice, this was just not the right place for my loved one.

I went to the Laurel Glen at Memphis Assisted Living & Memory Care. I was very impressed with the manager that I spoke to, Miss Kerry. She was very helpful and I love the building. They have a lot of activities that I love, and they are very accommodating as far as having to take, or if my dad would be requesting to go out to do things, they are accommodating that as well, as long as it's scheduled in the time frame. As far as food as she did tell me, they do have a great menu. I was able to view their menu and also view the types of activities they had. Pricing is very reasonable, which is something that we were looking for, so we did enjoy that portion also, as far as the prices. Overall the community was very well kept, and it's beautiful.
