My experience in rehab has been mixed. Yes, this area could certainly use some sprucing up, at least, for the most part is surprisingly good, better than I expected. The breadth of the menu is quite impressive. Vegetables are usually overcooked, but the portions are more than adequate. I take exception to the night nursing staff. The other late night/early morning, I buzzed for much needed pain meds three times. Finally, after 3 calls and 1 1/2 hours, she came to my room with a very aggressive attitude. She wasn’t the only one with this attitude, but this was the worst example. I have no names. The day nurses were great, very responsive, especially Laurie. There are 4 employees who did exceptional work, professional & compassionately: Keith - aide Celeste - aide Young Muslim lady whose name I do not know - aide Bob - activities director Ending on a sour note - my room was burgled. On my window sill I had 2 inexpensive decorations I won in Bingo. I just noticed missing tonight. I have a very few dollars in my pocketbook which were not touched.

I was in this place for short stay 4 days or so it was the worst experience in the rehab business ever. I wrote an extensive review as well as complaints about the nurses get attitudes when called they would vary the meds differently from the doctors they do not follow the instruction so you never get the right dose The cleanliness doesn''t agree with the pretty pictures they publish for propaganda, some nurses in fact most of them touch the medication bare hands and some don''t care when asked for the proper doses one guy refused to correct the dose and when I asked for the manager and to read the doctor notes immediately he said ok I''ll give it to you Some young guy came to take my vitals didn''t. Know how to fix the cuff for the blood pressure I offered to show him he ignored me The toilet seat you can''t tell if it''s clean because it was worn out and no paint so it looked brown all the time The food was disgusting and not fit for even my dogs When I put my complaints they did nothing and ignored me even more Then after discharge I asked if everything was covered as per Medicare they confirmed sure enough they sent me a part of a bill which I called Medicare they told me not to pay it I called and spoke to a management person he said not to worry I''ll take care of the bill but I have to take the review down Here we are now months later I get another bill from the transportation company which I asked the day they picked me up at st mary if it was covered by the Medicare the driver said yes Long story short they apparently use a third party company they don''t tell you that it''s not included until months later when no body remembers and send you a bill I was not given the option to use the proper transportation company that Medicare does pay for you just get trapped by this company so sounds like monopoly That was my experience at Twining village rehab dont be fooled by the pretty curb appeal pictures they put this place looks like the the 70s the staff is got horrible attitude with the exception of one or two people No one called me back until I wrote a review. Update 6 months later nothing got corrected I''m still receiving the small bills I spoke to the director of nurses on the day they discharged me and she said she will make sure there''s nothing for me to pay they say they''re making changes baloney every thing seems to ne the same They need a new effective management team and lots of renovation other wise the place is on a fast track to failure good luck to all the nurses and the aids are a huge Problem and must be replaced I went to the little nurse station to b remind them of the medications and this lady have me the look as if she was saying if you don''t get out of face I''ll smash you Now she didn''t really say the audible but she was mad like a bull during a bull fighting

This review is for the rehab/skilled nursing part of Holland Village. My mother was sent there for rehab after a long hospital stay and while the actual PT was fine the rest of the place is horrible. The rooms are so depressing. They look like they haven’t been painted or any maintenance on them in 40 years. The nurses are all agency nurses and they couldn’t care less about the patients. There is no consistency and new nurses everyday who don’t know what’s going on. When you ask them questions or try to get help they get annoyed and we had multiple nurses go on rants about how they know nothing that’s going on and won’t be back the next day. Then trying to get help from the management team is worthless. They didn’t care either. I would never send another family member back there or recommend to anyone else. Take my advice - find somewhere else to go or send your loved one. Update: do not think that because of the response below they actually take anything seriously. I emailed the Center Director, Director of Nursing, Director of Rehab and some other guy we dealt with who was worthless before I posted this review and not one of them had the decency to respond to me.
Read moreI had a pretty good tour at Holland Village. It had a nice atmosphere; it was not sterile. The people were very friendly. It was very clean and nice. I liked it. The staff that I met was good. They had various clubs. They had a gym and a swimming pool.
Hiredto work….no one had been there longer than 6months… pay lowest rates but charge clients hundreds daily… rooms are infection ridden no garbage bags in the trash cans… covid rooms have no proper equipment to protect the staff… no communication from shift to shift and no permanent staff ...
