We like everything at Heritage At Deer Creek except their memory care. The people that were there were at a different point in their dementia, so we thought she wasn't at that point. Everything else was very nice. And the rooms were certainly better than what she's got now. They had more windows. The cleanliness was good. It looked clean. There was a courtyard where memory care people could go outside. They have a very small walkway with plants for those who like to have potted plants, take care of plants, and do gardening. That was neat. I liked that when you looked out the window, it looked like you were in a regular neighborhood. It looked homey especially when you looked outside of it. The staff who toured us was very good. She introduced us to people along the way.

We toured Heritage at Deer Creek when searching for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one. This was a nice facility. Our tour guide was very good. The atmosphere, cleanliness, and friendliness was also good. We also toured the Memory Care unit. I noticed that they didn't have an activity calendar and that it didn't seem to be a priority.

My mom was at Heritage at Deer Creek for 15 years. I liked that she was safe there because they had a locked lobby. They had an elevator and rails in the hallway. She had friends there, and they all kind of looked out for each other. Socially, she did well there. She's got a balcony in her apartment, so she was able to get some outside time. Her apartment was very nice, except that they didn't update anything. She had the same carpet for 15 years that was already used when she moved in. They had a workout room, a library, a community room, and little alcoves where people meet and play cards. It was a nice-looking building. It was nothing super extravagant, but it was clean and homey. They had a laundry room, but my mom had the stackable in her apartment. They had an underground garage for people who were still driving, and they allowed small pets. When she first moved in, they had a lot of wonderful activities. But then the management changed over and over and they cut the budget, and now the turnover of the management people and the custodians is just constantly changing. Sometimes they don't even know who the manager is. Nobody will be in the office for weeks. It used to be great, but it's just gone downhill in the last 2 years. They didn't provide meals, typically. The assisted living facility next door provided meals, so some people would buy food from the assisted living place.

My mother was a resident of the EC Unit at Deer Creek. She died thereabout 45 days ago. In her last days the staff was still attempting to give her solid food, which she could no longer consume. I had to get hospice involved to have her dies modified to soft or liquid foods only. The final straw came when she died. I received a call from the funeral home that they were in route to pick up my mother. This had all been pre-arranged. To this day I have never been contacted by anyone from Heritage or Deer Creek. I live remotely, so I made arrangements for her room to be cleaned out within a few days of her death. At the end, there were no phone calls, no letters, no condolences or no correspondence of any kind. I do not think that my mother's care was poor, largely due to her being a hospice patient, but the general lack of recognizing her and her family as human beings is distressing. I know that this facility has has tremendous staff turnover, however, they collect thousands of dollars a month for each resident. taking the time to make one phone call is the right and human thing to do. Cheers!

Heritage at Deer Creek is a very pretty community. The staff is nice. It's clean and my mother-in-law just appears to be well taken care of. As soon as we walked in there, we felt welcomed immediately. It's beautiful. The rooms are bright and airy. The outside is well taken care of. They have a beautiful garden for the summertime and a nice common area for the residents to gather together. So far, the food has been good, too. In the memory care, they could go outside in this beautiful courtyard that they have. They also have a very pretty common area with a fireplace and a big TV for them to gather. It's very welcoming. Everybody that works there has been so kind and compassionate.

This review is for independent living. Please DO NOT put your loved one here. Today is 12/23/2022 and the apartment temp is 58 degrees because the windows are so drafty. There is no manager on staff. The Owner knows about the problem and does nothing to resolve it, such as replacing windows. This is considered negligence. They should be busing these seniors to a hotel for them to stay. Also they now want the residents to pay for new faucets, screens, doors, if replacements are needed. This is totally ridiculous the residents do not own these apartments they are renting them.
