Could you please look into the independent living’s lunch menu? We pay a lot for my mother to live there, and I receive daily phone calls from her about how bad the food is… to the point that it is inedible. She says that every resident there complains about it and usually most all of it has to be returned to the kitchen, uneaten. This is a complete waste of money. She only attends lunch for the socialization. Follow up: still no response to my inquiries. You can tell that they really care about their residents’ well-being. Shame on them for being all about the money.

It had a lot of amenities. We got a two-bedroom apartment. The people I talked to when we were visiting all seemed to like it there. We found it a good place, and we have friends who live a mile and a half away from there. The staff was adequate. The rooms and dining area were very nice. I looked at the menus, and I thought the food selection looked pretty good. They have two libraries, a gym, a movie theater, a card room, a pub with an outside patio, outside grills if you want to grill things, and parking if you want to take your own car. The facility was very nice, clean, new, and modern.

I'm at Harmony at West Ashley. It's wonderful. It's a large facility with a lot of people, and it's clean. I've got a studio, so it's a small one, but that's all I need. They have many different room sizes. The staff is very helpful and very friendly. They do a good job. They have bingo, they have a theater that has movies every day, and they have transportation to take you to the grocery store or to shopping centers at no charge. They also have transportation to doctors' appointments. They have games and a happy hour Monday through Friday. The food is OK, but it could be better. They have two libraries and a salon that's here two days a week. The outside area is very nice. There are ponds, geese, ducks, and turtles.
