I went to tour Evergreen Memory Care. I was in and out quickly. I remember the facility was nice and clean. They didn't have a spot at that point, so I don't remember too much about it other than that, but it looked like a nice place. There was just one person during the tour, and she was very helpful and gave me a good tour. It looked relatively new. It was built to be a facility and it was nice. The people seemed nice. It looked inviting.

There some definite gems in the facility, but we've had issues with communication between med-techs and the staff nurse. Conflicting calls as to the state of my mom's condition. They have repeatedly not called the primary or secondary contact at all. This was during an emergency situation. My biggest concern is inconsistent medical care.

We went to Evergreen Memory Care. My mom likes to walk and they have a lot of space around where she could walk. Unfortunately, we weren't able to meet with anyone to do a specific tour. The gal was out, so it was just the front office gal who gave us a bit of a tour, so we didn't get as much information as we wanted, but it was good to kind of see what the place looked like. We liked how it worked. Being there, we just realized we weren't quite ready for that move. The staff member took the time, even though she was supposed to be sitting at the front desk to walk us through and gave as much information as she had. We were very pleased with her. We liked how they had smaller groups of people in little communities for the dining and all that. I think that is a positive, especially for people with memory care issues. The people that live there were wandering around, but not like people weren't watching them. They had freedom to move if they wanted, and some were just sitting around. We had one gentleman we watched and he made a route several times. He was walking inside because it was raining outside, so he couldn't get out. They're active. They were walking some people around for physical therapy. We really liked it. We wish we had been able to meet with the gal that does the actual touring, but she wasn't in that day. I believe they had a salon. There was a gal getting ready to do some physical therapy with some residents who were sitting in chairs in the little area. She was very, very kind with them. A couple of them didn't want to, so she was like, "OK, you don't have to do that today if you don't want to, but we'll be back in five minutes and we'll start doing this."
Read moreMy mom went to live in Evergreen Memory Care. So far, it's been a good place and the people are nice. She's having sociable people in her housing, so everything so far is good. It is a little expensive, but the care is very good. Though I think it was more expensive for her care needs.

The reason we thought of settling on Evergreen Memory Care for my wife is that it's close to where we're at right now and we're familiar with the neighborhood. The memory care in the facility where we're at right now also has a larger quantity of people and we needed more stimulation, both mental and physical. We can get that at Evergreen. I have viewed the area and the facility twice and it looks very nice and promising. I've also heard good things about it. I didn't see much of the staff because we're going from room to room, but the ones I saw were very polite, well-dressed, and confident or they wouldn't be there. I didn't speak with them but Brandy, I think she's in charge of the memory care during the day, was very nice, very knowledgeable, and very pleasant.
