Cedar Ridge Place appeared to be well run, but it was not something that I think my wife would want. I think she wanted more of a central gathering place. The cafeteria seemed kind of cold. The room was certainly adequate, but I thought that in general, the common areas were lacking. There are no other common areas. There was an outside deck, and it was a very hot day, so it was not being used. Of course, in Minnesota in the wintertime, it can't be used either. The staff seemed good. The upkeep of the place was good.

Comfort Residence St. Louis Park was clean, friendly, and was a nice little community area. They showed us two-bedroom apartments and studios, and they were nice. The two-bedroom seemed to have a nice-sized bathroom. I was able to see their dining area where they had some TV going on, and a sitting area when you first walked in. The elevators were nice and they were repainting a little area.

I was really impressed with Carter, the person I was working with at Comfort Residence St. Louis Park. With the proper PPE, I was allowed to walk in and see what room my mother was going to live in, they showed me around the facility, and they made the determination that she wouldn't be able to move in there because she had declined too far. Even at that point, he offered to help me, and made some recommendations of other places that would be good for her, and also provided me with resources. I was impressed that he followed me and offered to find some caregiving resources for me. The apartment was really small. It was a tiny, little studio, it had a tiny kitchenette with no stove, but it had the amenities of a tiny studio, and it was very nice. It was updated, and it didn't look like a nursing home kind of room, it looked like a little apartment, which was appealing to me.
