From The Community
Enjoying a rich and full life begins with quality care and the opportunity to fill your days with purpose and meaning. That’s what we have to offer here at Brookdale Plymouth, a memory care community located in Plymouth, Minnesota.
Seniors living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia inspired our choices when we designed our community campus. They’re the reason we decorated our common rooms to resemble a cozy home for comfort, installed circular pathways to avoid unnecessary confusion and offer top-notch care all under one roof.
It’s also the reason we developed our signature, person-centered Clare Bridge program. This approach to dementia care gives your loved one the chance to enjoy a fun-filled but structured day, complete with six planned activities per day that are meant to help them maintain their current skills for as long as possible. Surrounded by their peers, they’ll get the opportunity to feel a deep sense of purpose and belonging as they engage in activities like:
-
Gentle exercise classes
-
Bean bag toss games
-
Watercolor painting
-
Flower arranging workshops
-
Karaoke nights
-
Baking demonstrations
-
History discussions
-
Resident movie nights
Our warm and friendly care team will be there every step of the way to offer any gentle guidance or reminders they need throughout the day.
Surrounded by your favorite things and people who care about you – that’s home. Our residents enjoy the following apartment features:
-
Lots of natural window light
-
Open and spacious floor plans
-
Garden views available
-
Pet-friendly
-
Companion or friendship suites available.
-
Basic utilities, maintenance and transportation included
Because you deserve peace of mind just as much as they do, our staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to an emergency. But we’re here to do so much more than that. Before they move in, we’ll work with you to put together a custom care plan that meets their specific needs. Whether they could benefit from help with daily living tasks like bathing and dressing or could use personal dining assistance or medication management, we’ll always here to be sure they’re safe, sound and comfortable.

I would tell others that they will always take the time to talk to me when I have a question or concern. They also will look in to something and get back to me as needed. The room that my loved one has is a very comfortable size for the needs. I would recommend Brookdale Plymouth to others.

We liked the cleanliness and the overall condition of Brookdale Plymouth. The one thing that put us on a little hold was that the residents didn't seem engaged in any way, shape, or form when we were there. It could be just at that moment, but the other facility we're looking at now has residents that were engaged with the staff and we just could not see that there. They had all of the amenities and exercises, but that wasn't geared solely towards men. The facility was nice and well-kept. We had to come back the second time though because the person who was supposed to give us the tour left the organization and nobody told us about it. The dining area was lovely. We saw a sample of their menu. It is a 5-week continual. So, that changed every five weeks.

Current staffing shortages are affecting the quality of care. The location of the facility is good because we can visit frequently, but communication with the family has been poor since both the Executive Director and Sales Manager left. It is starting to have the stench of a nursing home/urine- never was like that early on. Would I recommend this facility to others? I'm not sure. It has pluses and minuses, and hard to say what I would recommend. I guess I probably would, with reservation. It's a lot of money and once you are there, you can't leave because you have to private pay for 2 years.

This was a good community and we almost choose this one. The residents seemed happy here. The bathing situation for the residents would have been in a community area.

We looked at Brookdale Plymouth. The person that I spoke to there, her name was Christa, was very knowledgeable and answered my questions. I liked that she knew a lot of the residents and interacted with them, and they seemed genuinely happy to see her. I've observed them doing something during their group time, and it looked like the residents were having fun during the group time. The rooms looked pretty nice, there was a nice big window in all of them. They were a little bit smaller than some of the other places, and if you want to use the elder waiver, you'd have to have a roommate. I also saw the showers and that looked fine. They have a couple of TV areas and a dining area.
