Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
Q: How do I know if Glenwood Place Assisted Living is right for me?
Each person’s needs are different and it’s important for everyone to find the right senior living community for them. Glenwood Place offers non-medical personal care services as an alternative to in-home care for people who need mild to moderate assistance with their activities of daily living. However, the community is not licensed to provide skilled nursing care and is not equipped to help people with special health conditions or chronic injury.
To find out if Glenwood Place could be a suitable choice for care, prospective residents should ask themselves the following questions:
- Are they ambulatory or are they permanently confined to their beds?
- Do they need ongoing medical attention?
- Do they have memory impairments, Alzheimer’s or dementia?
- Do they need rehabilitation?
The community’s staff regularly help residents get up and around their apartments, but they are not equipped to help people who are permanently confined to their beds. The same goes for people who need ongoing medical attention: if a person needs skilled nursing care to maintain their chronic illness or injury, Glenwood Place may not be a suitable option for senior care.
However, people with Alzheimer’s and dementia are welcome at the community, thanks to their specialized In the Moment® memory care program. Their memory care community offers services tailored for people living with Alzheimer’s disease, creating a safe and secure environment for them to live and flourish.

The In the Moment® program is suitable for anyone who needs Alzheimer’s care but does not require medical treatment. Working with sales, [name removed], was not a good experience. She seemed scattered and would give roundabout answers to our questions and was difficult to reach. We also came in with a definite budget, but she continually ignored it saying to me and my loved one many times "Oh, you can sell that beautiful house you told me about". Even after we stated that was not an option and please don't mention it again. Our last visit before signing, she had mentioned that she had an apartment with a view so she showed it to my loved one. She stated it was a little bit over the budget, but not much. My loved one liked it better than the previous one and wanted it. It was significantly over the budget, but at that time with the dementia and other issues if we had said no, it would have been a hard struggle not to. Even at the signing of the paper work she again mentioned selling the house and when asked if for financial reasons my loved had to downgrade later would we pay the $[removed]. Again no clear answer, well maybe no or yes, depending on circumstances. If we weren't desperate to place our loved one somewhere, I would have walked away. Interestingly, we later found out that there had been an apartment open on the same floor with a view of the garden instead of the street for less money.
