I toured Brookdale Paddock Hills. They were very welcoming. I was impressed mainly by the fact that the residents were coming and going for lunch when I was there. So, I would see them in the hall, and some of them were just overwhelmed with how good the food was. Only one person wasn't, and I had a feeling he probably wouldn't have been happy anywhere. But the others were very happy. The hallways and the rooms were clean. The building was not so nice because it was an older and smaller building. The staff was very good. They're good with their people, and that was important to me. They had a courtyard for people to go out into. It was close to the major highways, but when you got onto the road that would take you to this facility, it became a neighborhood feel. It was a nice, quieter feeling, and it was not too far off the major highways.

Brookdale Paddock Hills was just not what we were looking for, it's more like a nursing home. Tammy was the one who gave us the tour and she was wonderful. Too crowded, and very dark. The rooms that they showed me were empty.

We’ve had an excellent experience. People have been extraordinarily kind, helpful, supportive and informative. We get emails often from staff about my mother, and we get phone calls when there have been problems. I like the facility because it is small, and the community is solid. The staff and the director have been there for a while, and that’s important too. And they post picture updates often on their Facebook page so that I can see my mother and how she’s doing. They’ve helped us with medical paperwork and been really wonderful so far. I know my mother is getting good care in the memory care facility.
