My mother-in-law moved into Brookdale Camelot Medina. We chose it because of the location. We like the security of the facility. It feels like a hotel, not a senior living facility. It's very clean, and they have friendly staff. The biggest thing I want to stress is they went above and beyond the day we moved in to help us. Due to COVID, food is being delivered to the rooms currently. She loves the food. I would do four stars because the eggs are cold in the morning. When they can finally go back to the dining room, I'm sure it will be better. But she's happy with the food. They normally do have activities, but because of COVID, there's no activity now. There's a library, a room that you can rent for large parties, a beauty shop, and there's a snack shop.

I toured Brookdale Camelot Medina. I liked the layout. We looked at the two-bedroom, and even the studio seemed very roomy and laid out well. So I like that the best. I felt there were plenty of activities for the seniors. It's a little bit of an older building but very kept up. I felt it was clean and spacious, and I like the area, the neighborhood that it's in. It's a little bit noisy, but that's because it's central to everything. The staff being only there a few weeks, she was very knowledgeable and gave me a lot of good information as far as longevity of the staff. They didn't have to get a lot of outside help during COVID. She was very friendly with the residents. She didn't know all the names because she's only been there three weeks, but I got to meet a couple of the residents and they were very pleased and had lived there for quite some time, like over ten years. So that says a lot. I think the food choices were adequate. They have a variety, it's restaurant style, so, if you go hungry, I feel it's your own fault. Me being a dessert person, I thought there could have been a little bit more choice of desserts. But then again, as we age, a lot of us have diabetes, and so the choices were appropriate for that. I didn't get to try the food or anything, but I thought there were plenty of dining choices.

I toured Brookdale Camelot Medina, the guy I spoke with was absolutely terrific and very informative. We chose another community because my mom had medical issues and we needed to move her in somewhere ASAP. They were the only one available to accommodate her within a 24 hour turnaround time. It was also the only place she'd actually seen, so she felt more comfortable with that choice. She was unable to tour other places due to medical reasons.

We've experienced a good time at Brookdale Camelot Medina with great people who are friendly It doesn't smell. They have activities every day. My loved complains about the food, but she just tends to be kind of picky.
