Independence and Discreet Support at Atria Walnut Creek
At Atria Walnut Creek, a senior living community in Walnut Creek, CA, older adults enjoy an active, fulfilling and independent lifestyle with just the level of support they need. Independent living means complete freedom without worrying about cooking, cleaning or driving. Three meals a day are served in the main dining room (and can even be delivered to residents’ apartments). Housekeeping happens once a week, and the included transportation means no driving to errands, worships services, and outings with friends.
Instead of these chores, residents spend their days visiting the spa for a massage, taking a nature stroll along the property’s wooded walking paths, reading books in front of the fireplace and entertaining guests at the Bistro, where coffees, teas, fresh fruit and snacks are always available.
Seniors in the assisted living program enjoy all the same freedom and amenities, alongside the customized, compassionate care they need to thrive, whether that’s assistance with daily tasks like bathing, continence and grooming, or extra attention for things like diabetes management, ostomy care or nebulizer and oxygen management.
Floor plans for assisted and independent living residents include studios, deluxe studios and one-bedroom suites. These come with kitchenettes, utilities, concierge service, 24/7 staffing, three meals per day in the main dining room, and a packed events calendar. For example, the Engage Life activities itinerary at Atria Walnut Creek, which offers over 200 events a month, incorporates physical fitness, intellectual stimulation, civic involvement and social connection.
Personalized Memory Care at Atria Walnut Creek
Older adults with Alzheimer’s, memory loss and dementia aren’t all the same, so their care shouldn’t be, either. Atria Walnut Creek uses the Life Guidance memory care program to ensure each senior’s unique needs are being met. Life Guidance residents benefit from secure, engaging, and thoughtfully decorated spaces. In addition, they have their own activities calendar designed to strengthen the body, bolster the spirit, and promote a sense of fulfillment.
The Legato initiative is a perfect example of Atria’s approach to memory care. Dedicated caregivers incorporate music learning and themes to accompany daily activities and awaken memories. These research-backed techniques reduce stress, improve mood and help residents focus.

I like Atria Walnut Creek. I like their activities. I like their menu. I like the personnel that I met. What I didn't like was that the units were all very small, and I needed something bigger. They didn't have any two bedrooms. They gave me a whole brochure on everything that they had. They have a nice little cafe in between meals that looked very nice to me, and the rooms were well-kept. Everything was clean and new. One of them had a stove, which I liked, and two of them did not.

I visited someone who was at Atria Walnut Creek. The overall experience was very good. It was very clean. My friend's mother had a very nice view. There's a sliding glass door that looked out into a nice view, so that was nice. The room was like a studio. Everything was in one room except for the bathroom, but that seemed okay. She had her own furniture, so it was very cozy. I walked by the dining room, and I see they had activities. There's a shuttle that takes them places, so I thought that was good. They had game tables there, so people played games. They had a party to where all the residents were invited, and that was nice, too. She had no complaints with the staff, and she's a complainer, so that was something. She didn't complain about the food, too. It was kind of a high-end place. It's very expensive.
