Do not put your loved ones here and don''t work here. The place is dirty, the administration is rude to staff, unorganized, no supplies, short staffed, and the good aides and nurses are the ones getting punished and many other things. It''s not worth putting an application in.
I would not recommend Altercare of Mentor. We went for a tour and it looks like a hospital. When you walk into the rooms they are separated by a curtain and have 2 hospital beds with no room for any furniture. It was very depressing. I would not recommend Altercare of Mentor. We went for a tour and it looks like a hospital. When you walk into the rooms they are separated by a curtain and have 2 hospital beds with no room for any furniture. It was very depressing. I did not see any staff interacting with the residents in memory care, they were all just slumped over and sitting in front of the TV. We knew right away this was not where we were going to place our mother.

As others have mentioned below, do NOT put your loved ones in this facility. Very disorganized and very poor in communication between administrators and family members. I have been repeatedly and pathologically lied to. It’s obvious and leaves you with a bitter taste in your mouth. When confronting them about very serious issues, they become masters of gaslighting and manipulation. I’m surprise that the State of Ohio department of aging has not really investigated this facility. Please put your loved ones in a caring place somewhere else. They don’t deserve this kind of treatment!
Read moreI worked here for A agency and they are only trying to pay me for half of my shift and my agency has verified my full shift and they still has not got back with my agency . I would never pick up at this facility again I drove 30 minutes , worked a 8 hour shift and got ripped off.
I would give zero stars if I could. While we did encounter a few good nurses/aides, there were not nearly enough of those ones. The attitudes of several nurses/aides created an unsafe and at times hostile environment for residents and families.

Do not send your loved one here. Your loved one that can speak and is capable of mobility has the opportunity to let their family know what’s going on. My family member had dementia and they treated him badly. He caught Covid twice, when he was not able to swallow the didn’t give him his meds. They leave them unattended and he fell on more than one occasion. They stole his jeweler and had no remorse. He passed this year and gave no condolences. Please protect your loved one. Do NOT send them here. Also, they stated he was combative and I could transfer him to another facility, which was a straight up lie so they can continue to receive his money. Pop in on your loved ones. The manager laundry attendant was the manager for the facility over these patience. Go figure!!!! Please do your research they will show staff is there when you make an appointment, but are so short staff and people leaving!!!!!
