Alden Estates Of Shorewood

My husband was there for 3weeks after Peripheral by-pass surgery. We were very pleased with the care my husband received. The RN’s CNA’s PT’s and OT’s were very kind and treated him as if he was their dad.

If you look on yelp they have two out of five stars I did not want to send my father here. My beloved father fell in March 2016. He was only sent to Alden for rehab on his pelvis. Supposedly he was to be released at 250 steps. when he told me he was doing 400 stops I asked why he was staying but he did not know. We feel it’s because my parents had very good insurance. This staff would lie about bathing my dad, they would leave him on the toilet for up to 45 minutes with him calling over and over. He was of 100% sound mind. Because he was in the bed and never moved he developed bedsores and began to retain water. They decided to put him on Lasix through a port in his arm. The young nurse or whoever she was couldn’t get a vein pulled the needle out into the air and put it back into his arm. That’s exposing the needle to all sorts of bacteria. While he was there he also had a swollen knee and they drained the knee at Alden nursing home of Shorewood. One evening my dad called me crying in the middle of the night this was not usual for my father. I got there as fast as I could my mother came and I said I want him to go to the ER now. The doctor lied to me and said we were not allowed to use an ambulance we had to use their service. My husband who is a detective sergeant in another town said that is a lie that nursing homes use ambulances all the time. It took them forever to get there by the time my dad got to Saint Josephs hospital in Joliet he was in complete kidney failure, and in respiratory failure. Very long story short on July 25, 2016 my father died. My father was my hero, my best friend, and really the only person that ever really understood me. Sometimes I don’t want to go on without him. All of you who mis treated him not only will face the Lord one day, but you will face my father and you will face me. If anyone reads this please I beg you not to let your love one go to Alden of Shorewood. If this hell hole had not been chosen for my father, he would probably still be alive today.

The CNA''s, RNs, OTs, and PTs have been incredibly kind and attentive, ensuring his well-being. The consistent cleanliness of his room is noteworthy. I wholeheartedly recommend Alden Estate of Shorewood based on the exceptional care my father received. Thank you! (Note: there is a big difference in care from your Shorewood location and Orland, your Orland location needs a lot of help and should be looked at my upset management)

I was there after a hip replacement surgery..I know that places are having a hard time staffing everywhere, so sometimes it was a little tough to get a CNA as quickly as I wanted.. but just about everyone was very nice and helpful and the physical therapy folks were very helpful 👍
