Depending on the level of care that is needed, each resident enjoys a comforting blend of the independence they want, with the assistance they need. Our expertly-trained staff provides support based upon the individual care plan of each resident. With personal response systems and 24-hour access to staff, residents feel at ease knowing support is available whenever they need it. Our community is designed with our residents in mind with a one-level floorplan to encourage friendly interaction and reduce confusion. Many of our residents have family within walking distance, so dinners and gatherings are frequent. Our residents look over a meadow in the morning and watch the sun set over the local swimming pool, listening to kids on summer break. Our raised garden beds come alive in the spring with vegetables and flowers planted by residents, who also enjoy the harvest of both. ** Edited to update- Unfortunately a new management firm was hired to oversee the care at Addington place. The final year of my mother’s life there was not satisfactory at all. There was one staff member to take care of 12 patients in the memory care unit, the highest care unit they had. (And much more expensive, I might add) Oftentimes that staff member was brand new. They were so short of staff that often if I was there at mealtimes, I had to help the overworked staff member get their meals to them so they wouldn’t be eating totally cold food. I’ve seen the residents sit at the table for nearly an hour waiting for their meals to be served and by the time they were, they were stone cold. We paid a premium to Addington Place to keep mom furnished with disposable briefs, but they neglected to do that. (One time they had left baby pull up pants in her room that didn’t come near to fitting her!) And there were almost never briefs available in her room even though we paid for them to be. (Yes, we complained, but it never changed) Their fire exits in the back of the building were almost always blocked with heavy kitchen equipment to where you couldn’t get a wheelchair out the door if there were a fire or other emergency. After several times of visiting only to find my mom filthy, her face and hands and wheelchair covered in feces, with dried feces under her fingernails, even after showers, not to mention the dirty living conditions, I moved her to a different (and much better) facility where she lived the last several months until she passed. Our billings from Addington place were never on time and generally either submitted incorrectly, incompletely, or not at all, to our insurance company. We would ask them repeatedly to submit the billings correctly but it often didn’t happen for months on end. We would have to threaten nonpayment to get them to do their billing. The staff turnover rate was very high and the “good ones” didn’t stick around long. My mom lived there a total of 12 years and the first 10 were great, the next two went steadily and quickly downhill. I sure hated to see how far down the quality of care had fallen. I would NEVER recommend them again. I would beware of any place managed by Jaybird management. Do your due diligence and beware! My mom has lived at Addington Place for over eight years, and has been content and happy there. I feel secure knowing that she is in friendly, caring hands. The Addington Place team help us to feel safe and comfortable, communicating concerns, especially during this pandemic. (Special shout-outs to Tanya, our angel of mercy on the medical team who has worked tirelessly to help us keep mom healthy and happy, and Rose, their wonderful and caring activities director who takes a personal interest in the residents and works hard to keep everyone included, stimulated, and involved. Thank you all so much for everything you do to help both mom and us!)

They definitely need a better Chef!!!! Sure hope they will be able to start retaining the Resident Care Staff too....

My husband is here. He has been there for five months now. The thing that I like most about them is that the employees are all very caring and very nurturing. They make sure that they're happy, that they're clean, and they're taking care of us. I like the facility because it's in the memory care and everybody's rooms, when they come out of the room, they go right into either the dining room or their little television room, so they don't have to wonder which direction to go in. The rooms are all private rooms. They have a half divider right in the middle of the room so that they have a little area to sit, watch television, read, or whatever, and then the other area is where he sleeps. He has a bed, and he sleeps there, and it's right next to the bathroom so he can get up and go or get a shower. They have laminate flooring so that they won't stumble or fall. They don't have a lot of amenities or activities for them. The assisted living had exercises and bingo and those sorts of things, but the people in memory care don't care for bingo. They have lots of videos so they can watch those. The employees will come and sit with them and talk to them and do that sort of thing. They cook breakfast there, but lunch and supper are catered from the local grocery store. They don't have as many activities, but they're so kind, and they do the laundry and everything else for them. They're just kind people, and that's important. For the most part, the food is pretty good. I have tried their food.

I wanted to write a review about my experience at Addington place I do hospice and we currently have residents that live here I wanted to let there cooperate office know that I have been in the health field for over 35 years and never ever had I met one of the BEST CREW of EMPLOYEES EVER.....from upper management to the aides, med techs, and the lady that does laundry,kitchen just every one is soooo very helpful and I truly believe they take Pride in there jobs as the home is always nice and clean the residents are WELL TAKEN CARE OF!!!! I Thoroughly enjoy going there I take pride in what I do and I''m very passionate about it and I can say that each and every employee I have encountered there all have that passion!!!! I meet alot people in this field that at one time are another have ask me about different facilities I can now say that ADDINGTON PLACE will be the Place I Recommend strongly.... My mom has been at Addington Place for 6 months now. I could not be happier with the care she receives here! I’m impressed by the fact that they respect HER needs and adjust the care to her needs! (I had visited another facility prior that expected my mom to adjust to their rigid view of what they expected of my mom!). The staff is very nice, very friendly, very patient! It is clear they like what they do by the atmosphere they project. The food is good, I have eaten with my mom several times. The facility is very clean and well kept. I can make a phone call anytime and ask someone to check on my mom, fix the tv, turn up the heat in her room etc. It feels good to know I can count on them to care for my mom when I can’t be there! GREAT PLACE!!
