BEWARE!!! This looks beautiful from the outside but that is where it ends. My mom (Alzheimer patient) was a Covid patient and when her hospital stay ended she had to go there until she tested negative, then she could return to her nursing home. The communication was horrible, the phone just rings and rings. Most information I got when I finally got someone on the phone. They are supposed to report daily - especially since no visitors are allowed in. Families are at the mercy of the staff. The most communication I got was from PT/OT. Mom returned to her nursing home on 5/28/2020 with a stage 4 bed sore on her sacrum!!!!! They said it was discovered only two days prior on 5/26/2020 - this is a stage 4 sore, and it was never reported to me when discovered. Again, stage 4 - down to the bone!! Covid has kept my mom bedridden and incontinent so she was supposed to be changed and moved. It is so disturbing to me that she recovers from Covid only to have to survive this bed sore. Mom spent 37 days there, which was 37 too many. I had to rate with a star, but 1 is too many.

My mother was a resident there for nine months. The building is very nice but that is where it stops. The food is terrible. I spent the whole time tryingredients to get her food. If the meal ticket was right the tray wasn''t. They didn''t keep units stocked and food was cold when served. The nursing staff were uncaring and refused to take responsibility for anything. Mother was placed on hospice a few months before she died thank God because that was the best care she got. Communication is terrible there. The upper staff such as administrator and director of nursing or uncaring and hide and refuse to talk to family. The situation became so bad I was forced to call Huntersville Police Department to try to correct situation of neglect with no bath for 5 days and hiding the call bell so Mother couldn''t even call for help or water which she couldn''t pour herself. This place needs some serious training in patient care.

My parents have been residents of Assisted Living at WVL for 2 years. From the cleanliness of the facility to the high-quality of staff, there is nothing that I or they would change. It speaks highly of the management team that many of the aides and nurses have been with WVL since it opened. They really do care about the quality of life for their residents. Westchester Village of Lenexa has to be one of the BEST senior living facilities in the country.
