The staff at Cadence at Huntersville were all very nice. The facility itself was older and had more of a nursing home look and feel to it but the lobby was pretty. The rooms were not updated and smaller, I just knew my dad would not be happy here.

I love Cadence and my mom loves it. The facility is very clean and they clean her room every week too. They provide a ton of activities and really encourage the residents to participate. My mom is a hermit and is actually doing things I never thought that she would do. They have entertainment that comes in weekly and they are all great. The staff are all super nice and polite, you feel welcomed right when you walk in. The only complaint she has had is the food, they are not able to season the food so there is not much flavor to it. My mom has been going to the same hair dresser for 20 years and she was adamant about not having anyone else do her hair. She let the hairdresser here do it and she loved it which was huge. It is worth every penny that we spend, I would highly recommend Cadence at Huntersville to others families.

We have had issues recently within the community. The management makes it look much better than it is. The weekend experience is horrible, this is because they don't have management to see what the employees are doing or the lack of assistance they are providing to the residents. There has been a lot of turnover of staff and management recently. There has been a lot of agency staff coming in, instead of the community hiring employees. My loved one has pushed the call button and has to wait and doesn't get a response in a timely manner. There have been times that food has been delivered to the residents with no utensils to use to eat with. There have been times the staff will forget about my loved one to take to eat on the weekends.

Read moreThey raised the price for my loved one's care and I would recommend you be prepared to pay for the care for your loved one. The staff are friendly; however, the community is understaffed and not enough. They do the best they can with what they have.
