EDIT:After 9 days of my loved one in their TCU (daily visiting) I can share how the experience played out. the positives were the kind staff and clean, quiet facility. However administration and social services was a nightmare. Our care coordination meeting (the one where we discuss goals, figure out the plan for the entire TCU stay) was cancelled multiple times by Dara, the social services director, without warning. We didn''t have that meeting until 8 days into the TCU stay. Woodlyn told us during the coordination meeting that insurance was running out and it was time to discharge. No warning, no planning, no support. I quickly found a respite program at assisted living for my dad, and needed the help of staff at Woodlyn to fax information to the ALF facility. The incorrectly sent information multiple times, and sent incomplete forms. This caused a 5 day delay in my dad''s discharge (because Woodlyn wasn''t responsive to my calls, and wasn''t faxing nursing notes and forms) which is unfortunate because insurance had run out so we are expected to pay ourselves...hugely expensive They slowed down a process that I reminded them was very time sensitive, practically begged (no insurance coverage!) After working an overnight shift, I ACTUALLY SLEPT IN MY CAR FOR 2 HOURS IN THE PARKING LOT IN ATTEMPT TO CONNECT WITH THE SOCIAL SERVICES DIRECTOR! That is how impossible it is to reach these people by phone. THEY DONT ANSWER. I was desperate for her response after she filled out paperwork incorrectly multiple times. I was getting so desperate for them to finally fax paperwork, the staff there change their working hours every day so it''s unpredictable when they will be there. they do not return calls, they are unreachable via email, and they usually keep their office doors closed/ locked. It is impossible to get in touch with their admin staff. The executive director, Luann, doesn''t even mention her name in her voicemail greeting. It''s like they all want to be unreachable. I understand that kindness is so important, no matter how polite and respectful I tried to be in my requests, it didn''t help the process move along. My dad requested double portions, the food usually arrived cold and barely 1 portion. The nurse practitioner put in an order for double portions and it never happened. Thanks to the awesome rehab and kind nursing and house staff. Scary how disorganized social services and admin is. Seems like they don''t care much, and I wonder if the delay in discharge was a way for them to make money (off a senior citizen with cancer) I''m very nervous for people who don''t have family or friends to advocate for them at Woodlyn.

This happened even with me being there 8 hours a day. Calling upper staff from the first night. Aids and nurses can only do so much. This is corporate greed. This was so traumatic that I am now arranging hospice.

If you can help it refrain from sending someone you love here. My fiancé has been there since Nov 21 after ankle surgery and will be coming home worse than he entered. Severely minimal staffing has led to neglect of residents and increased injuries doing essential task tasks. Minimum wait time for assistance is 20min and my fiancé has waited up to 2.5 hrs for assistance to get out of the bathroom. He incurred an additional ankle fracture and the a knee fracture above surgical site due to just wanting to use restroom when no one came to help him.

My mother was sent here for physical therapy and occupational therapy evaluation. Within a few hours she needed help going to the bathroom so she pushed her button. The nurse came in and said "What do you want old lady?" ( Degrading my mother) My mother told her she needed help going to the bathroom as she is a fall risk, the nurse then asked her, "can you walk?" My mother said yes but I need help. The nurse left the room and didn''t return for 45 minutes. I spoke with Scott and Dara and told them how thoroughly disgusted we are with the treatment of our mother and that we were taking her out of their facility. Neither of them apologized for the poor treatment of my mother. This was supposed to be a good experience, a positive step to getting my mother home. The integrity of this facility is highly questionable, clearly their staff does not reflect their mission statement. An investigation needs to happen here.
