In July, 2023 we moved our 97 year old aunt from a senior apartment to Willowbrook. She was suffering from some dementia and cancer. We cannot say enough about the excellent care she received. From the very beginning of applying and assessing her needs to the end when she passed away in October, we knew she was in good hands and receiving kind and compassionate care. We know she was not always an easy person to work with. She was staunchly independent and private her entire life and that never changed. The staff was patient and respectful. I especially want to commend Tricia, the nurse, who changed the dressing on her arm daily and went above and beyond her normal duties even coming in on the weekend to do this. Willowbrook is so lucky to have her because it is obvious she loves what she does, caring for seniors and their needs. At the end, they helped coordinate hospice to come in. We always knew our aunt was receiving excellent care. It was a pleasure working with Tari in administration, Tricia and the staff. We would most highly recommend Willowbrook as an exceptional assisted living facility.

Willowbrook Place was nice but it didn't have a nice entry and it was near a lot of industrial buildings across the street. It was in a nice location, but it was not in a wooded setting. The room size was a 4-star because it only provided a tiny wardrobe and no closet. I don't think my mother could go in a room like that. Only 28 out of the 56 units were occupied, which was a bit of a turn-off. We saw a full schedule of activities, and we saw residents doing some activities. It looked like they had adequate staffing. The dining rooms didn't have tablecloths. They were more cafeteria- style, and it wasn't as cozy. But the menu looked good, and the tour was done exceptionally well.

If I had to choose between one of the four facilities I toured, I would choose Willowbrook Place as number one. The facility was very well-kept and looked like they put a lot more into it in all aspects. They have gardens outside, and you're able to sit outside. It's just in a very nice location also that I think it adds to the ambiance in it. Even the decor was well done. It was just a little bit more upscale, aesthetically pleasing, and extremely clean. The staff was very accommodating. They were all surprised that I came, but they all graciously accepted me immediately, toured me around, and explained everything to me. I was able to even interact with some of the residents, and so it was just very, very enjoyable. Just looking at the residents, they were well cared for, happy and active. They had a lot of things for them to do. It was just very nice. I was very satisfied with the dining room and the kitchen area. They showed me the menus, and there were options available. The menus looked very healthy, and they had nice options if people did not want the main meal.

I toured Willowbrook Place, and the staff seem to be very receptive and very caring. The only real problem I had with that place was the rooms were very, very small. There were no closets or anything for possessions at all. They care about their residents, but it just felt like a shoebox for the rooms. It also looked old; they needed to make it look more like a home than a hospital or nursing home, with all those white walls. It was just drab, but they had decent amenities and things to do, and that was fine. I know they were trying to get people out of their rooms.
