To be 100% honest I want to be clear that I am a former employee so I may be biased. I''m not here to spread rumors or lies just my opinion and the facts that I know. While working at Reflections I loved my job and and the company. Their mission and reasons for starting the company were something to be proud of. The owners had a family member with dementia and they seen how badly a new way of caring for it was needed and decided to become a role model in dementia care. Although the company is in the same family the personal connection to the hardship of dementia was lost when Reggie Phillips retired. A new wave of management then began -anyone who had been with the company in a management role for more that 5 years was fired without reason or given ultimatums that contradicted with the morals of caring for human beings. Recently ( I KNOW and I''m sure this info can be found as it was a state safety concern) the villas decides to TURN OFF and drain their sprinkler systems in multiple buildings including Reflections in Morton to prevent a leak and save money. This sprinkler system issue had been reported previously and instead of fixing it they risked the residents safety by turning off the sprinkler system. The safety, health, and wellness of the residents are no longer the priority of the Villas of Hollybrook and Reflections. This [ turning off sprinklers and risking resident safety ] is an example of the ultimatums that were given to long term management. I hope the company takes a long and hard look at what is best moving forward I feel that if they cannot care for the elderly especially with dementia with compassion, humanity and safety forward thinking they may need to reconsider their role in Healthcare as a whole (the business is owned and operated by a lumber company).

Morton Villas of Holly Brook had a separate 50s dining room. The staff was friendly. Everybody that walked by greeted you. We went around with the assistant director. We looked in a couple of rooms and then they showed us around for all the different activities where you would go. They're all on one floor. They have one-bedroom apartments and two-bedroom apartments. They do not have studios. They have the schedule on a wall. You can look at the schedule each day and see what they're doing that day and where all the residents are.

We looked at Villas of Holly Brook. It was very good. We walked through the facility. The staff showed us everything and explained everything. It met all our expectations on that. They had more activities, but the folks there were a little more restricted than independent living. They still had trips, they took them to the local stores, and they took them to the different things and they had movie nights and things like that, but they're a lot more structured events for them. The facility was very nice, and the layout was nice. Everything was there. I didn't see as many people. I think those people are a little bit more homebound than independent. It looked to be newer. They had like a 1950-style diner in there for lunch and early meals. They had two different dining areas. The rooms were very clean and a little smaller than the one my mom ended up with at the other place. But for what one needed, they were more than ample, clean, and well kept. The staff were all friendly and cooperative. The facilities were a little bit more modern and newer.

I went to the Morton Villas of Hollybrook. It was nice, new, clean, and looked to be well run. The staff was very friendly. The room was plain, and would be fine for an elder person. They encourage people to personalize and make their own living space. We just got glimpses of the other ones that were all fixed up, and they looked very nice and homey. They had a big activity center, a workout room, like a gym, and in addition to the main cafeteria, they had a fifties diner cafe that looked really nice. They had a bulletin board with a monthly calendar of activities, and it looked like it was packed with activities throughout the month.
