I was very scared to move my mom into a supportive living facility, the director of this facility had my back every step of the way from start to finish and made the process seem-less, this was not an easy decision as most know if they care for a LO, my mom is happy here, the head nurse answers my texts no matter the time of day, the doctor that sees the residents noticed my mom had a UTI and had her on antibiotics right away, my mom has gained 26 lbs since moving in to her apt, her heart doctor was impressed at how well she was doing in such a short amount of time, the dining area could use some improvements as far as I noticed some heaters broken and ceiling issues, but that has no effect on the great food they serve, my mom LOVES IT! She has been here 4 months now and thriving, she was even able to bring her cat Pariah with her which was a huge plus with her dementia, the residents are nice, staff is always friendly and very aware of what each resident is doing daily, I can’t speak highly enough about the activities, my mom is very social and active, this place has frequent outings, and at least 5 planned activities daily that your loved one can join in on, games, crafts, fishing, and shopping are just a few of my mom’s favorites so far, my mom was sick with the flu and they made sure she had medication to help her, brought her soup to her apt, and checked on her often throughout the day, I know this from her point of view because she would text me every-time they were there, She had some swelling in her legs, at 10 pm I contacted the head nurse and was able to get my mom care right away, the next morning the doctor was there to see her, not only did the head nurse calm me down (I was scared) she assured me that my mom was in good hands which she is, the facility is always clean, parking is perfect, residents are well cared for and protected, I sleep well at night now knowing my mom has 24/7 care. I can’t thank the staff, nurses, doctors, kitchen staff, directors and everyone at Victory Center of Sierra Ridge enough for making this stage of my life and my moms life better and more positive for us both. (Photo is of my mom enjoying her favorite sandwich in the dining area, corned beef)

Victory Centre of Sierra Ridge was fine. The staff that I met with was very pleasant. They were easy to speak with. They were assisting the residents. The person that I talked to was very pleasant. She gave me a tour and provided me with a lot of information. The condition of the place was fine. The layout was also fine. There was something about that facility that just didn't appeal to me. I don't know if it was just because of the tightness. It seemed small to me and it seemed like the residents were congregating in certain locations. Like, they didn't seem to have a lot for them to do. They were outside or they were in the cafeteria area congregating, but it didn't look like they were eating. So, I'm not sure what was happening at the time. It just didn't appeal to me. The parts that I was shown seemed to be clean. The staff was very friendly. They were dealing with residents, which was fine. It seemed as though there were a lot of residents, but not as many staff.

We chose the Victory Centre of Sierra Ridge for my mom. I toured there twice: once with my husband and another with my mom. I love everything I've seen so far. They took me on a tour of the actual room she was in. We met some of the residents there. The first time we visited they were getting ready to prepare for a play they were putting off for Christmas. The second time we went for our tour, there was one of the ladies that was over in the craft department. She was explaining to my mom different things that they do. She asked my mom if she sews, and my mother said yes. She said "Oh, we can use you." Mom got really excited. It's something that I think a lot of seniors would like, and especially with the things they offer like the different programs, crafts, trips. My mom loves that. She loves to go to operas and plays. They were very friendly and cooperative. They were able to answer any questions that we had. One young lady would even email me, call, and give us a status update as to where my mother's application was. She would take the time to come and interview my mom. The rooms are beautiful and have plenty of closet space. They have a full-sized refrigerator. They have no stove because they have a kitchen with a chef. There's a sink with cabinets (upper and lower), a counter, a microwave, and a coffee maker. The bathroom is huge. If she was in a wheelchair, she would be able to roll herself in and out. They get menus every day. The residents are able to choose what they want for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The meals are delivered to their rooms. After things started getting a little bit better, they started letting the residents come back to the dining room. They were able to have them distance themselves. I appreciated that because she was able to explain everything because we were concerned about my mother's safety because of COVID. It's a spacious dining room with several tables. Originally it was six chairs to the table; however, they needed to distance them, so they made it where there were only four chairs per table now. They have an exercise room and a room for physical therapy (if any of the residents had physical therapy). They also have a salon, but right now there's no one working in the salon. It was extremely clean.
