We moved my stepfather from a rehab facility in Fort Worth to Victoria Gardens of Allen to have him closer to us. From the moment we got him there, it was obvious how much these people CARE for their patients and the families. They involved me in every step of the process. They helped with the paperwork when he was admitted. They scheduled an appointment for me to meet with the social worker and the director of nursing. They called me to keep me appraised of his medications, to let me know about dietary changes and to let me know they were transporting him to the hospital when his labs failed to be normal. *They involved me!!* This facility, the staff and administration are wonderful, caring and helpful. The grounds and rooms are clean. Patients are lovingly cared for. Not once did I see the nurses or the aides exhibit anything but care for the patients. It has been a painful journey that ended abruptly for our family, but thanks to Victoria Gardens of Allen, I feel that we are in a better place. We know my stepfather was well cared-for in his last days. He wasn''t ignored. He was cared for. Thank you very much for being more than just a "facility." Thank you for being a HOME, for caring for your patients and for the lovely, empathetic people you have working for you.

This place is absolutely atrocious and completely negligent. We saw the positive reviews and thought it would be a good place for my dad to stay for a couple of months while he regained his strength after suffering multiple strokes. It was a mistake we''ll never forget. We had a feeling he was not being taken care of properly very early on in his stay, so we put a Ring camera in his room. The administrator at the time told us to be careful about cameras because "what you see on the camera can be misleading." He suggested we only use it to communicate with my dad and not monitor him. That was a huge red flag. After installing the camera, we noticed obvious signs of neglect (see attached screenshots) and would call up there to address the concerns. After a few calls, the staff decided to keep my dad out of his room the whole day so we could not see him, which would have been great had they been actively engaging with him, but they weren''t. We ended up visiting almost every day to check on him. We''d find him sitting at a table alone (he''s wheelchair-bound and dependent on people for care). As soon as we saw him, he would ask for something to drink, he told us he needed to be changed and he wanted to lie down. A few weeks into his stay we noticed his legs were slightly swollen. We asked for the doctor to take a look, but they never did. The director of nursing ended up prescribing a diuretic and called it a day. Over the next week, his legs and feet continued to swell in size (pictures attached). Despite us begging the doctor/nurses/aides/anyone who would listen to look at him, nothing happened. At one point, they told us that the swelling was due to dehydration, but they believed this was just the new normal for him. Action was only taken when his blood pressure dropped to 90/50, and he was rushed to the hospital where he had emergency surgery to remove extensive blood clots in both legs. That''s why his legs and feet were swollen. It wasn''t a dehydration issue. It wasn''t his "new normal". It was complete negligence by the entire place. It''s disgusting a place like this is still in business. They should be shut down indefinitely. The patients and their families deserve better.

Read moreSome of the staff are amazing but otherwise it''s impossible to get things done such as getting patients seen by a dentist in which we have been asking for almost 2 years. People don''t seem to answer the phones 85% of the time.
If you want your loved ones to sit in their diapers for hours dirty after asking and asking to be changed and being ignored.... then this is the place to be!!!!
