My mom was there and it was not good. The food is horrible and she was promised a bunch of things like weekly cleaning that did not happen. It is way over priced. When the residents complain they are told it is a corporate decision there is nothing they can do and you cannot get in touch with corporate. Recently they have been renovating and they have taken away the activities like popular Bingo, pool table and table tennis. They replaced them with chairs that only youthful people can get out if they sit down. When residents asked what is going on nobody knows anything. They have just slapped a coat paint on things but it is still not clean. They recently said they are no longer going to put notices of the schedule of activities on the doors. The food is so bad that a lot of people just eat in thier apartments and only come down when necessary. Complaints during the community meeting have only been given lip service and the residents are told corporate handles all that we can''t do anything about it. There is absolutely no security especially at night. One time my mom had just walked into her apartment and when she turned around there was a man in there accusing her of stealing his cart. It was not his cart. He just walked in to a single womans apartment! When she went down stairs to say something to management she was told " We are sorry but there are people here that do not know where there apartments are." They did nothing even after I made them aware. In essence they dont care. There are no security cameras in the halls. When people get out of control there is no security to handle the issues. Bottom line if I had know what I know now there would be no way I would have let my mom be there. One last thing my mom never got her referral fee of 1000.00 either.

Holiday Parkview in Allen was nice. It was being updated while we were there. They showed me the grounds and some of the newly renovated rooms. I saw a couple of different varieties of one-bedroom rooms in different sizes. I got to see some of the residents interacting and doing some of the activities, like bingo and bowling. They also have two bedrooms. The only downside was that they were strictly independent living, so once you needed assisted living, you would need to relocate. I got to have some cookies that they made there, and they were really good.

I loved the tour I had at Holiday Parkview in Allen. Jennifer told us about the construction that they're undergoing right now, but she showed us pictures of the upgrades that are going to be done. They looked beautiful and very warm. She told us about the activities and amenities that they have available. It looks like it's a really engaged, involved community. We were shown an apartment and that's when she was showing us about the upgrades that are being done. They had transportation, like if somebody has a doctor's appointment. I liked the game room, the library, and the exercise room. They had gatherings. I didn't eat there, but I left with a nice tin of cookies that were made there. They're very high on our list. I saw some housekeeping people, but Jennifer was definitely great. It was definitely a good experience. It looked like the activities were different and could very be personalized to each person. They weren't generic. There's a lot of things to do nearby, too.

The rooms are nice. Everything was updated or replaced before move in. When we moved mom in, the management was missing the general manager due to illness. The new manager is now in and making needed adjustments. The staff is very friendly. It is truly a 55+ community, but has amenities that you get at a care facility like a dining room and 3 meals daily. The housekeeping comes once a week to your apartment. Transportation is available. The Activities Director has been there many years. There are fun things to do and it's a nice community. Inside the halls, the carpet needs replacing and walls painted. This is supposed to happen next year. The food in the dining room is good on some meals and not on some others. Management holds meetings with the residents to give updates and to get feedback on areas that they want to address. Everything is included in the rent, except for phone service (land or mobile). This facility may not be a good fit for everyone. However, I would recommend it. They keep an eye on the resident's abilities. If someone really starts having severe memory issues. they will recommend them to look for a facility to provide the needed care. The staff is there from 7am-7:30pm I believe, so this is not Assisted Living. The residents do get a name tag and an emergency beeper to wear . My mother moved from her home to this facility and she is having so much fun. She is happy and gets out to socialize.

I saw Holiday Parkview in Allen and it seemed pretty good, I liked it. The apartment's style makes it look like a hotel atmosphere to me, that's what it felt like. Other than that, I like the indoors instead of going outside. They have a good chef onsite, and they have great meal menus with different varieties, but I haven't tried the food. The activities were really good, my father is Christian so some of their worship activities are good for him, and they have different types to do. Their staff there is pretty great.

We liked the overall layout of Holiday Parkview in Allen. We liked that there were garages that you could add on. My grandfather is still very active and likes to do projects. We liked the ease of access because we live in Allen, so it was really close to us. It was a well cared for facility. We were excited to hear that there were going to be some renovations in some of the common areas. The people were super nice. We enjoyed the staff that we interacted with. The lady that took me on the tour admitted that she was fairly new to the facility, but for being new, she was very acclimated. She knew what she was talking about. She was able to answer our questions and show us around. She was super helpful and super sweet. She even followed up with me multiple times. She also showed us a church at the location, so you wouldn't have to leave if ever you go to church for bible study. It had a beautiful courtyard in the middle of the building. You have to bring your own furniture. However, there were appliances in the apartments and bathrooms that were equipped really well. They were roomy to be able to get in and out. There was a little seat in the shower, so you could actually sit down. It was very, very well set up. You can even plug in a full washer and dryer.
