This is the best skilled nursing care facility in the Bay Area. My mom was here 8 years ago too, and just loved it, so last week we called them from her hospital, and they agreed to get her right in again. Stanford wanted her in here. The food is amazing. The rooms are beautiful, and the nurses really love their jobs. Andrea, the director of nursing, is always available for questions and assistance. This is truly 5 star all the way, but if you are in here, and need help, you need to ask for it and they will come right away.

My husband & I just moved into our apartment at the Vi. The entire staff at the Vi have been so helpful and friendly especially Enrico Galvez in the sales group. The sales & move -in teams (Joy Flores) were always very responsive to our requests and questions. And, we appreciated the many small thoughtful gestures during the move-in process: gift wrapping our apartment door, welcome tote bag with bathrobes & useful information about the Vi, welcome cheese/meat platter on move-in day, and personal delivery by Enrico of a "welcome to the Vi" basket of treats. We highly recommend living at the Vi. Everyone we have met so far has had an interesting life and we are looking forward to participating in several of the special Vi activities.

Vi at Palo Alto is my favorite, but I'm looking for a two-bedroom, two-bath with a den, and it was not available for another couple of years. I'd have to live there for a while to say the staff is good enough, but from what I could tell, it was adequate. The facility was excellent. They had housekeeping, extracurricular activities, and nice meals at night. You have to dress up a little bit and you can meet different people and I think that it was very attractive.

I have a friend in Vi at Palo Alto. She has the best place in the whole community. It's almost a house on the bottom floor, and it has two gardens. She has a place that's like a terrace that goes out to the garden, and then the roadway at the side. I know a lot of different people in the Vi too, but she is the one that got the best deal. She publishes the newsletter for them. She's on the food committee, and the chef just loves her. He wants to put her on salary because she knows the place better than anybody. She's in independent living, and I think she's very happy with the people that take care of everything. Out of all the places I've been to, I think it's the most expensive. I think there are lots of activities. They provide a whole lot of activities under normal situations. They have beautiful grounds. It's like my friend has her own yard because she's on the lowest floor right next to this whole green area. It's very well-landscaped and beautiful. It's in very good shape. It's costly, but they put the money in for it to be beautiful. For me and my friend, it was close to the church we went to. It was also close to where we've lived and were brought up as kids. The hospital is right across the way in the Stanford shopping center area, so that's the one that's the closest to the doctors.

My Parents moved into Vi not long after it opened. I’m leaving this review, as they both passed in 2016. Vi treated them right, and family right, during and after their long lives were over. I am grateful. Even readying their “owned” apartment for return was as painless and straightforward as possible. Vi is pricey. What a place if you can swing it. It’s beautiful, luxurious, and relentlessly cleaned and maintained. The food ranges from good to outstanding. Visitors enjoy shared meals in elegant surroundings. The Bistro offers well-prepared simple fair, at below-market prices. Whether a broken hip on the mend, or worse, the subsidized adjacent skilled nursing is a marvelous way to recover medically, in comfort, with good care, close to loved ones, residing next door (Visiting is easy). Vi staff is dedicated. They learn everybody’s quirks and dietary requirements (dining makes that essential). Caring and cheerful. Mutual respect is the norm. Vi is a community where most residents enjoy an active lifestyle, intellectually, socially, and physically (quality gym & indoor pool). After a decade and a half of exposure, I felt compelled to leave this positive review.
