The Waterford is refusing to refund the money they promised and is provided by their contract. My mother moved to hospice a week before the end of Dec. I gave notice that she would not be returning. According to contract, upon death or move to hospice we would have to pay only 2 weeks. But John (Director) said we had to pay the full month of January but the difference would be refunded promptly. Mom passed away on January 1. We are now at the end of February and John will not answer or return calls or emails about the money they took from her account, knowing she had passed. At most, we should have only been charged 14 days. Mom and I trusted John. We were duped. Do not trust John or Waterford. Tell your family to remove all money from your account upon death. Or better yet, just go find a more trust worthy place for your Mom or Dad.

The Waterford is a great facility with great residents and awesome, friendly staff. My father lived there very happily for several years after selling his house until he needed to move to assisted living because of memory loss. Dad loved eating two meals per day with all his buddies. Great location with Kroger, the library and the park all very close by! My dad will miss all his friends there so much! We plan on visiting periodically just so he can talk to all the people he has come to love.

My brother moved into The Waterford at Fairfield. I like the fact that everything is included. The staff members are just wonderful. My brother is in a larger one-bedroom apartment. It's unfurnished, but it's very nice and clean. It has natural light that comes into the room. They provide large appliances, like a stove and a refrigerator. But for the small appliances, you can bring your own. They provide two meals a day. I asked about the meals, and they seemed to be quite satisfied. They have quite a bit of activities, and they give you a monthly calendar, so you would know when all of the different activities are happening and gatherings for watching sports and things like that. They have exercises going on, bingo, puzzles, and other things that physically and mentally keep them alive and alert.
