My wife will be moving into The Sheridan at Park Ridge. It was the best of all the places that we looked at. The thing that stood out to me was the staff. It didn't feel like a memory care unit at all when you walked in the door. It felt like a much higher-end facility, almost like a hotel. The apartments were the best we've seen. There was enough space to have more than just a bed and a dresser, and then there was a nice bathroom. They had access to several different programs and activities. They had a nice outdoor space and nice meeting rooms. They've got space for us to have parties with family members if we want.

The Sheridan at Park Ridge is a very nice facility. It was clean. It looked like they were great caregivers. They were interacting with the people and kind of making you feel comfortable about the care that they give to people. The residents looked very happy. They have a dining hall and a gym area for the seniors if they want to do that. They have guest areas, too. The staff who gave me a tour was very nice. She followed up and called me a couple of days later. She's very thorough and very flexible because I had to move my schedule twice. I didn't get to see the entire facility. It would have been nice to see a little bit more. I only saw the studio. They have a beauty salon and a physical therapy area.

The Sheridan at Park Ridge felt like a swanky hotel. It was very nicely decorated and very pretty. I wasn't 100% happy with the layout. They have all of their common areas on the first level and the residents live on the second, third, and fourth floors. Rather than having little nooks and crannies where people can sit and read a book or chat, the hallways were more like hotel room hallways where there was just row after row after row of doors. So, it wasn't quite as homey. It felt more like a hotel. I was pretty impressed with the staff that I met. They had a hair salon, and I like the fact that The Sheridan has signed on a third party for all the physical therapy. They bring an outside company onsite and they do it right there for the residents, and it seemed a little bit more professional to me. They also can go out on field trips. They have a grand piano in their main lobby and they have entertainers come and perform there.

Absolutely the worst experience, mostly from executive team. Care team did the best they could with the limited staff members they had on, way under requirements for the amount of residents there. They used a temp service most of the time which was not effective. No memory care director and no memory care activities staff were staffed during my loved ones stay, so it was very unorganized and there were no activities to do. They plopped a few residents in front of the tv and called that their activities. Housekeeping was barely done as bathroom floors always had urine and feces on them. Showers were not monitored, my loved one went three weeks without one as we discovered when moving them out. Soiled diapers left in room for days without discarding them, I blame limited staff on that. Only decent thing was the food options for them. Other than that, it was a horrible experience. Borderline neglect on many levels. They even messed up their medicine two times. When handling the issues, executive director was very unprofessional and rude. I highly advise against placing your loved one here.

The Sheridan at Park Ridge was wonderful. The facility was very clean and very nice. Our favorite thing was that the garden was right off the memory care. The rooms were very nice. They were not huge, but perfect for what my mother-in-law needed. Their dining area was very clean and very nice. The staff was wonderful, accommodating, and answered all my questions. We met some of the people that run the activities. They do bingo, art, and singing. You are also included in the regular assisted living when they have different performers. They have little outings on their bus. They have a big TV and sitting area.
