Elison Independent Living of Niles had a lot of activities and things to do there. They had a pool, an activity room, and a small pool table. It's open and airy when you walk in. The rooms were very nice. They have a nice kitchen in them, and they have a good use. The person who showed me around was friendly and accommodating. I even had a meal there and the food was good. I liked that place.

The unit that my sister and brother-in-law chose at Elison Independent Living of Niles was a little bit larger and there were a lot of activities going on. They have quite a bit of entertainment. The people that I've met have been very nice. My sister and brother-in-law are still kind of trying to get acclimated to the place, but the food, from what I understand, is good. There are a lot of amenities for them to take advantage of, but again, they haven't taken advantage of anything yet. They are still trying to get acclimated to their surroundings because they came from a five-bedroom house to a one-bedroom unit. It was a very big downsize for them. The facility is clean and nice. I think that all the exteriors, like the common areas, are clean. I've been there bringing stuff to them and by just walking around, I see that everything is very clean. There's a library and activities that they try to engage the people that live there into joining. They have people there who help with physical therapy and exercise, but I was just amazed at the entertainment that they have for these people. It's nice.

I like that Elison Independent Living of Niles is very clean and very updated. The only thing I didn't like about it was there was no balcony. It's nice to have a balcony to go out and get some fresh air, but I understand it's a very tall building. So that was probably the only thing I didn't like. Otherwise, everything else I liked. I didn't try their food, but it smelled very good. If I can figure out this financial situation with my parents, I would love to have them there because I think they'd be a great fit for them. However, the only thing is that I don't think they can transition to assisted living. Nevertheless, the cleanliness of the place was beautiful. Absolutely wonderful. They have a pool and a physical therapy room, which is very nice.

I am currently a resident at Elison of Niles and things have been very good for me at this facility. The staff and residents are very welcoming and friendly towards other residents and our family members. The move in was very smooth and accommodating, with an elevator available for my own use. The meals are fresh and a good variety. The activities are well run and fun. I would recommend Elison of Niles as a good Independent Living Senior Home.

I would have moved to Elison Independent Living of Niles today, but the problem is their cheapest place is $2,500 a month. However, they're beautiful. There are restaurants, shopping, and all kinds of stuff. But it's just too much money for me. The staff members did their best. They asked me if there was somebody in the family that could give me money. They did everything to try, but the problem was I couldn't afford it. Food depended on what your diet was, but it was a good variety. They were perfectly fine with providing me with everything I needed. The food was good. It was like eating in a restaurant. The place was very clean.

[name removed] Culinary Director at Elison of Niles, has made a noticeable difference in the variety & quality of our meals. He listens to residents’ suggestions & strives to implement them in the menus. I often write comments about the excellent service & the satisfactory yet improving food. He is serving more varieties of heart healthy fish, recently adding snapper & trout. Beef is on the menu at least once a week. Fresh seasonal fruit is most welcome at breakfast & as dessert at supper, as are the apples & oranges available most days. Thank you, [name removed].
