The Residence at Pearl Street: Support and Independence
The best way to describe the assisted living lifestyle at newly-renovated The Residence at Pearl Street is that it’s like being at a resort. Housekeepers handle tidying up and laundry, maintenance people tackle life’s annoying tasks, and chefs prepare three restaurant-style meals daily and serve them in the elegant dining room. Staff is here around the clock to offer the support residents need to live how they want, including medication management and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) like taking a bath, grooming, and getting around the community.
For seniors with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, the renowned Reflections Memory Care Community offers a holistic, mindful, non-pharmacological approach to cognitive decline. The program is built around the Five Principles for Vitality: Continued Learning, Arts & Culture, Physical Fitness, Community Connections, and Wellness & Self-Care. These unique seniors benefit from secured spaces and individualized attention from compassionate staff members (all of whom are certified by the National Institute for Dementia Education).

My Mom has been at Pearl Street for a year now. She loves it and so do we. It was a hard transition, but she feels very much a part of the community and at home. The variety and amount engagement activities are wonderful. There is something for everyone, every day. The wellness staff is caring and helpful all the time. The operations team makes the behind the scenes work, such as billing and record keeping go as smoothly as possible. And the food is delicious! So much goes into running an ASL community and Pearl Street does it right! We are so happy that Mom landed there.

My mother-in-law moved into The Residence at Pearl Street 2 weeks ago. She is very comfortable and very happy there. So far, they're doing a nice job. It's a very beautiful and clean place. It was a former school, which they've done over. On the inside, they have a lot of really nice common areas with television or tables for playing cards. They have a big and beautiful dining room with sunny windows. They also have daily and weekly activities, including going shopping which they do once or twice a week. She's been able to attend church services. Right now, they're doing it televised in the residence. And then someone brings over communion for them, which is nice. She has a studio apartment with a full bathroom and a little kitchenette that has enough room for a table and two chairs, a 2-burner stove, a refrigerator, and a sink. She has a big common room that's large enough for her bed, a chair, a TV, and a big walk-in closet. They offer meals there - breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But she can make herself food if she wants to. They have a beauty salon and a library, and there are washers and dryers on site. Since it's assisted living, there is an attendant that comes by every day if you need someone to help you with your medication. They bring people in to do various things like music. My mother-in-law was telling me that they had someone playing the piano and they were playing music from the 40s and 50s. She says the food is good, but she doesn't rave about it.
