The tour at The Park At Bay Area was fine. There was a lady who took us around and showed us all the different apartments. They didn't have any apartments, though, I think they only had studios. They were minimal. I think you could have a microwave and an ice box. I don't think there was a kitchenette. They showed us the community area, the lunchroom, and the business office. They were having some kind of event that day, some kind of social gathering for the residents. It was relatively new, it was clean and well-maintained.

My husband is at The Park At Bay Area. It's good. I think sometimes they are too short on staff, but that's probably everywhere. His room is small. The staff is good. They just need a little bit more. Their food is really good. He is eating tortellini and salad right now. They have pretty good food. They have activities twice a day usually at 10:00 and 2:30 or 3:00 somewhere in there. They play music and they show them to exercise. My husband does not exercise very much, but they also have people come in that have programs and sing, and they all enjoy that. They play games with them like bingo and different things. It's very clean. I've never had an experience where there has been an odor or anything like that. I'm happy with this facility, I just have to drive so far. But the facility is nice and fairly new.

The Park at Bay Area is a good place for mom. They are very caring and involved. They more or less let them have their independence as much as possible. They have a good activity director, very good food, and good housekeepers. They keep it really clean. The bathrooms are accessible for the residents. A lot of the people that live there have dementia or Alzheimer's, and it is a pretty secure place. They have an activities director. They have activities here and there, but my mother doesn't like to go. Occasionally, she will, but she's way past enjoying herself right now. Her room is just a small, motel room type thing. It doesn't have a stove. She has her own refrigerator, and she couldn't cook anyway. They have a memory care section, but she's not in that section. Price-wise, it's kind of comparable to every other place around there.

The Park At Bay Area was one of the top places for me. They might need to have a few more employees, but other than that, it was very nice. I toured both assisted living and memory care and it was very well maintained and clean. It smelled fresh and the staff was very welcoming. The lady who gave the tour was very, very nice and was very helpful in explaining everything. The rooms were very spacious and very well maintained. They had just finished activities when I got there and I saw some of their paintings and different things that they had done. Their dining area was very pleasant and inviting, too.

My friend moved into The Park At Bay Area last month. It's excellent. The staff takes care of my friend. Upkeep and maintenance are excellent. It's an open layout. The rooms were excellent, open, clean, and well taken care of.
