I have been so happy with the care at The Landing. My husband is in great hands here. It was a godsend at a time when it was much needed.
The Landing is a wonderful place! My grandparents currently live here and the Landing offers many fun activities and services for them. Recently we just attended a pizza night with our family and it was a huge hit! Great food, company, and even live music.

The aids in the memory care center show a disgusting lack of respect and compassion. To witness them rolling their eyes at several clients and ignoring a patient while they stood around and chatted was disgraceful! Also why are they bringing their children to run around without supervision and causing upset and making it hard for the clients to move around in their walkers. The place looks and smells much better than any other facility we had investigated, and everyone was super nice when we had a scheduled tour. Once we moved my loved one in however it became painfully clear this place is only superficially acceptable. My suggestion is you re-train the aid staff to treat the residents as they would like their own family to be treated and maybe that would help. And do something more that turn on the TV in memory care, I see all these lovely events online for the regular area of the facility and the memory care have very little entertainment

This was such a hard decision. I went to 6 places. I chose the landing. My mom has had amazing care for the past year. . From caring people. It has not been easy. She is moving from her last few weeks at assisted living(they help keep her there as long as possible). Now she is transitioning to memory care. They help they care. It’s not easy for families but the staff really tries. They go above and beyond. They offer activities and music. And social activities.

Moving here is probably the biggest mistake I''ve made in my life! Carolyn talks a good story but little is as presented. The only positive I can report is many of the other people I have met since my arrival. Many of the staff try but there are too few of them to do the job. The food is downright awful! Much is too salty and as with many seniors with high blood pressure restricting salt is essential. Activities while already limited are also frequently canceled due to staffing shortages. This was my second choice but was closer to family. They really wouldn''t mind traveling a few extra miles. Make the right choice.

My mother will be moving into The Landing of Poughkeepsie. It was set up small intentionally to be kind of like a family. It seemed that the residents spent the day together doing lots of different activities. The staff was all hired directly and trained to work with these elderly people. They would provide a lot of physical support and have an extra level of enhanced support if you need it and you pay a little more for it. The place just seemed very loving and cozy, and nobody was sitting by themselves somewhere in a wheelchair. They had a nice backyard that they try to get everybody out into every day to do activities. The food looked really good and there was a cozy dining room where everybody ate together. I liked the activities director that I met. I saw her working and she was just lovely with the residents and very enthusiastic. They had chair exercises twice a day. There's a nurse on call and a medtech that's always there. The director of the whole organization met with us and she was really lovely.
