Make Every Day Bright at Sunrise of Fresno
Sunrise of Fresno offers the convenient amenities of Fresno, CA, but it feels like a world away. Wooded walking paths, a community garden and scenic park views make this assisted living facility feel tucked away and serene. Residents are free to do their own thing here — they can curl up with a book in the library, relax in the comfortable living room, grab a coffee at the Bistro and chat with friends on the sunny patios. A bustling activities calendar also means there’s always something fun, creative or meaningful to do. There are church outings, Go4Life Walking Club, and Exercise Essentials & Hydration in the mornings. Afternoons see seniors getting manicures, watching classic TV shows, listening to live music, playing Wii tournaments and attending socials (like the “Thirsty Thursdays” Happy Hours). Nights are reserved for movies and restaurant-style meals in the main dining room.
Dining services coordinator David Greer makes every mealtime special, with a fresh, diverse and healthy menu. Waiters use tablet technology to make sure the food aligns with the nutritional and wellness goals of the residents; food choices can be customized for seniors with diabetes, high blood pressure, dysphagia or any other restrictions.
Older adults at Sunrise of Fresno enjoy excursions into the natural beauty and cultural experiences that the area offers. Nearby is the Shinzen Friendship Garden, the Woodward Shakespeare Festival and California State University, Fresno, which offers galleries, music and performances. Kaiser Permanente is next door, and Cedar Vista Hospital and St. Agnes Medical Center are within 10 minutes.
Find the Care You Need at Sunrise of Fresno
Sunrise of Fresno features assisted living, short-term stays and memory care; residents and their families can choose from two-floor plans: studio suites and one-bedroom suites. Both come with large bathrooms, dining areas, kitchenettes and sitting rooms for entertaining guests. They also include housekeeping services, daily trash removal and weekly laundry. Assisted living care values dignity and gives residents independence, allowing them to help shape an Individualized Service Plan (ISP) that provides as little or as much assistance as they need.
Older adults with memory loss, dementia or Alzheimer’s live in a particular neighborhood called Reminiscence, where Life Enrichment Managers arrange memory-focused activities, physical exercise and assistance with daily tasks like grooming, bathing, dressing, eating and socializing. Reminiscence also features Remembrance and Life Skills rooms designed to promote calmness, security and well-being.

It was beautiful and very clean. The staff was very helpful. The nursing staff was very caring. I was there during the Halloween party, so they do a lot of parties for the holidays. They had lots of activities. They had an exercise room, a library, a computer area, a movie room, a very nice theater room, and a very nice garden area both for memory care and assisted living. Everything there was very lovely.

My tour here was very good. I enjoyed it a lot. It was a nice place, and it seemed to be comfortable and clean. I liked their mission statement which has something to do with the dignity of each person. If they carry that through, I think it will be a wonderful place for my sister. The staff who gave me the tour was very accommodating, knows the information and was able to understand where we were coming from. They were all very helpful. The rooms were small enough to look homey and not institutional. They have several living options so that if you wanted to be in the common area, you could choose that. The outside was very nice. It was green and shady and a couple of raised beds for the residents to relax in if they want to do that. They seemed to be very accommodating to the needs and interests of the residents. When I walked in, there were 4 ladies at the table playing cards. There was a kitchen there where they were having cooking activities based on the season. They also have art classes and Bible studies.

I was very impressed with Sunrise of Fresno. It's not quite to the level of the other place, just very, very slightly under, but it's not bad at all. It definitely would be a good spot for my brother-in-law. The apartments were clean and looked good, but I didn't like them because they're a little smaller and the refrigerator was small. Other than that, they were good. The upkeep and maintenance were excellent. It was well cared for. You could tell that they put a lot of time and energy to keep it clean and maintained. The dining area was very nice. The staff was friendly, open, very professional, and dressed nice. It was a positive experience. They had a barbershop and a lot of good stuff.

After I toured the Fresno Sunrise community, I told my husband, “That’s the place for my Mom to reside when her Alzheimer’s disease has progressed to her needing more care.” I’m VERY pleased with what I saw and experienced.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It''s been a pleasure to help families find their home here at Sunrise. We can trust that staff will provide the care that each individual needs.
