My mother needed a rehab facility and because there are so very few available, she ended up at the Grove. From the 1st day, we saw so many problems. She required oxygen in her CPAP machine. It took 3 days to get it and daily, the nurses and aids will not turn it on for her to sleep. She was promised a shower twice a week. Lucky if she gets one once a week when I take her. She requires medication twice a week and has a script for the injections. She is only receiving it once a week after she requests it daily from a number of staff. She was given an injection prescribed for her knee pain, in her arm, not in her knee. The food is horrible. A typical meal...a slice of white bread (generic, I''m sure) with a teaspoon of tunafish and a melted slice of cheese. For 4 days she asked for something other than water to drink and was told they were out. I could go on and on, but to what end. Just please, please, please, stay on top of this place if you are forced to take your loved one. If you have a choice, go elsewhere!

Nurse here.. Lets be honest. They DNR’d me because I had to leave work 4 hours early one shift. I had no one to p/u my children off the school bus.. i was scheduled 7a-7p. I left at 3 ..I let them know first thing in the morning.. giving them 8 hours to find someone to cover my shift… but they claimed they were overstaffed and said it was fine. Another incident. I p/u a wrong shift. I p/u 7p-7a accidentally.. I RARELY work nights especially on weekends.. It would be impossible to try to rest during the day with both my small kids at home.. ( whom both have disabilities) but I cancelled and tried to reschedule for a day shift and they DNR’d me. This facility is a joke. I work with MULTIPLE agencies.. travel all over the state of Pennsylvania. I could care less…. but if you wonder why they are always short staffed.. well here ya go. They will send home employees if your a few minutes late or DNR you for a minor incident.. I watched staffed employees verbally assault other employees ( assault mainly agency girls) I watched staff members verbally insult other employees in front of alert and oriented patients and family members!!!!! lets not mention they dont properly count narcotics nor sign for them.. i seen med errors after med errors while administering medications ( patients with duplicate orders) .. etc .. tried to correct them myself… like I stated this facility is a joke.. very clickish.. treat employees… like a body instead of human beings…. I can go on and on but VERY unprofessional…. I traveled there for the convenience but they did me a favor… the “ convenience “ isnt worth being talked about or treated unfairly. Nor is it worth my license… I feel bad for some of the patients whom I grew a relationship with in such a short time. Oh I almost forgot the sunday I worked they barely had any kitchen staff. They had to pull aides into the kitchen. Which then I passed all of my halls trays.. picked them up and assisted with feeding.. tioleting and etc while the aides help out the kitchen staff. At one point.. the aides kept mistaken me for an aide because one stated “ ive seen you do mostly aide work”….. not to mention while passing medications… but they DNR’d me ? Complete joke… i was also complimented on my work ethic and customer service skills by a resident whom I was told “ doesnt like anyone. “ but oh well
Read moreI would not want to go to this place, it smells like a urinal, does not look like a well-maintained facility. Visiting my sister there and not happy with the place at all. Very hard to communicate with your patient, as hard to get someone. Definitely don''t recommend.
Frightening! The stench of bodily fluids reeks throughout this $300.00/day flop house. For starters, the bed linen was dirty. My call bell was non-functioning from the beginning for the next 3 days. First day and night I received no meds. My roommate greeted me with "I''m a paranoid schizophrenic!" I looked at the CNA and she said "He hates having a roommate." He then turned up the TV volume to TEN! I could go on....
